What is the applaud/smite option?

Kind of like a cosmic pat/smack on the head? I fear that this will lead down a bad road of personal vendettas and retribution for imagined slights.

Yes, I agree that people could abuse that. I would like to think better of our registered members though. Let's see if this faith will be rewarded or not.  :)

To be truthful, I added this module because it sounded like a clever idea. Personally I assumed everyone more forum savy than myself (which I assume to be most) would know what to do with it. The fact that it has not been this way makes me a bit worried.

Personally, I think this feature should be used judiciously. Applause is one thing, but smiting should be rare. I assume a moderator would review this information when an incident occurs. Feel free to give kudos when you feel moved to do so. I applauded Mark Theurer for his post for example. Goodness should be spread like manure (IMHO).

Being Jed Clampett meself, I don't even know how to work this thang yet.  But it sounds cool.

It's like rep on other forums. Usually it's either hoored around or ignored depending on the climate. You know someone makes a good discussion and you applaud them and make them feel good or someone comes on and says, 'Warzone suxxor! All minis games suxxor!' then you crush them with the smite option and hurt their feelings.
The idea is to show productive and positive posters over trolls and flame warriors.
