I share here Daniel Earp's answer to the question I asked about the "MEDIC" skill that was given to me on facebook.

I wrote the rule, and I can tell you what is written above (the manual) was in error. The rule should have read roll under base 10 skill + skill level modifier.
The whole idea of the skill being base 10 is that any qualified medic with the proper equipment would have a 50% chance of saving a wound. The best medics in the game would have an 80% chance (16/20).
The same premise guides combat troops. Any qualified base soldier should have a 50/50 chance of hitting the target. Being more skilled or less skilled than average is reflected in the AR score.
Having a 12 AR score is exactly equivalent to having a base 10 score with a +2 for AR skill (12/20). A medic(3) has a base score of 10 with a +3 for medical skill. At least that's the way it should have been.
