Phantom menace or real threat?
« on: February 13, 2006, 03:38:23 AM »
OK, just a little one from me.
Maybe it was often asked and through other threads one could filter what will result here.....but I want to throw it up another time.

What is the unit you don´t want to opposse / dislike most ?

Through the other threads I see most here don´t want the Bauhaus Vulkans on the other side of the field.
Why that?
Yes, I see the advantages, but every time fielded I saw them eaten up like any other squad on the field. They always draw fire and normally they don´t withstand long enough to wreak havoc.

cybertronic machinators 2 are crazy bastards. I hate having to kill them. I love killing people with them. But at least they have a weakness (they need to get up close to do any damage - but when they do that ATS is devastating if the attack doesn't kill). If you don't kill them before they get to you, good luck.

Yep you´re right. That many wounds can bind a lot of gunfire and they still can get through.

Amen to that.  jjdodger's usual trick and even one on the field is annoying.  He's lately taken to fielding two sets... which is twice the pain.

I've not won against this double set up... though I have come very close. (4 wounds, iirc, spread between three models at the end...)

Try running a Dr D behind the unit and change up the point man every turn to a healthy Atilla, while rotating the wounded to the back!  ;D

Some battles I field only attilas w/ scorpions and Chassuers. It then becomes an AAOD (Atilla Army of Death). I am kind of curious as to how wells this would do against the Vulkan Army of death.  One advantage with the skorpion is the AP missles, which is great for taking out numbers of 1 wound troops.
But the vulkans have better range and damage strength.

Anyone seen these two kinds of forces fight?
