Sad News in our little family.
« on: March 31, 2011, 10:27:01 AM »
Friends,

It is with heavy heart that I must report the passing of Archer's father.

For those who have met him at the factory or at the occasional convention when John would bring him you would remember him to be a warm and humorous soul.  I always enjoyed our conversations (which ranged from politics to gaming to everything in between) and have many fond memories of them.  While his health has been on the decline for quite a while now he seemed determined to retain his kind nature and good spirits.  Amazingly, though he lost his vision a while ago he still managed to play paintball and had, I am assured, a confirmed and unassisted kill (channeling his inner Daredevil I suppose).  ;)

The funeral and services will be sometime in the next 3-4 days and I will post details as they are finalized.  Car pools will be organized as needed.

Please join me in wishing our heart-felt condolences to John and his family during this difficult time.

John- If you need anything please let me know.

I am both saddened and (to some small measure) relieved for you, my friend.

I didn't know your father, but I know the effect he had on his son, and I know the son's pride in his father.  He'll not be forgotten.
If sing, sang, and sung, sink, sank, and sunk, and drink, drank, and drunk, how is it that it isn't bring, brang, and brung, think, thank and thunk, and ding, dang, and dung?

Don't even get me started about bad, badder and baddest.  Run, ran AND run...again?  C'mon!

Fellas...

Thank you for the warm wishes- they are appreciated.

the story of the Blind Man picking off someone with a paintball are true- He could see movement at best and ar range....  His own words and the event was verified by others in the tower that day.

(paraphrased)
"I saw someone move from a clump of trees to the big wooden wall...  I brought up the gun and waited.  Saw some more and pointed at the area.  when the next guy snuck out, I fired a dozen shots.  I could see him jump as he had been hit... and the guys up here with me confirmed it.

I got him!"

When the date is set, I will either post or call Prime to have him post it.  As per mom, we are thinking it will be monday or tuesday for the viewing and serivces.  The notice should be in the paper out here either  Saturday or Sunday.

  Again, thank you all.

Dad was given a proper send-off by all of the boys after the Funeral.  A Right and Proper Irish Wake it was....

I want to thank all of you for your well wishes; Josh and Prime made it- passing on the last second best wishes from others to myself and my family.

Again, thank you all.
