Update time...

Drugged and Starved are FINALLY finished!  I shudder to think how long these would have taken if they weren't so simple to paint...very few colors and massive use of washes on these.  For the starved, I went for plain copper-colored metal to differentiate them from the brass-colored weapons and trimming that will be on my warriors...

Starting to work out the color schemes on my Warriors and Reapers:

The warriors that I had to strip getting final touches on their bases:

Wolf Totem glued, and on the gaming table:

His brother is on my workbench:

And finally the goblin chariot glued together and also on the gaming table...staring down that Wolf Totem!
I decided to not go "fancy" with making the goblin warrior removable.  A regular sized base fit into the chariot, so I just did it that way.  I'll paint the base to match the floor of the chariot.

As usual, its been a while since an update.  Been caught up in traveling, but did manage to actually get a game in recently as well.

First of all, I finished all my prototypes for the Stygian I was working on.  Right now I only have one of each of these done:

Great Warrior:

Warriors:

Reaper and Flayer:

The whole gang!

now that the prototypes are done, time to crank out all the other ones...assembly line style...ugh

I also built another Wolf Totem proxy, and based them both on washers:

That's all for now...

Looking good.  Interested to see those wolf totems with some paint on them.

I'm considering painting all 10 of my dwarf totems after I get down with the massive Stygian assembly line.  if my back and arm still works.

It's been a looong time since I picked up a brush, but I'm at it again!  As usual, its an upcoming gaming that is prompting me.  I have until late April to paint as much stuff as I can.

So when I left off last July (ugh) I had lined up my Stygian warriors/reapers in assembly line fashion.  Well here they are again -- now all with a base layer of grey skin.  45 figures: 11 spearmen, 11 axemen, 9 swordmen, 11 reapers, 2 great warriors, and 1 flayer.  Took me 10 days to get this step done -- pretty pleased with that pace.  Onto the next color - brown for all the leather straps.

The painting was pretty monotonous, so I took breaks once in a while to cut some foam -- I finally have all of my dwarf totems in one foam shelf now!  no more sitting in random boxes or gathering dust on bookshelves!

Not too exciting of an update, but at least I'm using my paintbrush again...

Nicely done, the Stygians are one of my favourite models (that's coming from a Dwarf fanatic  ;D),

I do batch painting like this have you based yours on the plastic dividers you get in cases?

I can understand why you have done so many in one go to get a uniform colour but if you did them in smaller batches you might not get at overwhelmed and bored with a colour I've got 19 SOR on the go at the moment and that's enough for me and I'm probably luckier that they are a bit different to each other so more variety, look forward to your next update.

Yep thats what those are.  used to use cardboard, but its a pain to get unglued from the mini base.  I paint by holding one edge of the divider, and rest the opposite edge on the table.  can keep it pretty still with my arm resting on the desk and/or my elbow on my knee.

It's not really for uniform color.  I gave up mixing colors a long time ago, so I never have replication problems.  Its more of a time saver.  I know this is the quickest way to get all of these guys done who share a lot of the same colors.

Slow progress so far.  Finally have all the color done for all of them on the armor and weapons.  Next up: metal

Metal complete.  This is brutal.  never painting 45 figures at the same time ever again!

but the end result will be nice!
