Two Handed Weapons
« on: February 20, 2015, 07:56:44 PM »
So I am working on my unit Cards and I want to get as much info as I can on the Cards. So here is my Question: Under the description of Two handed weapons it says they all can Sweep. However when you look at the actual weapon list not all two handed weapons can sweep. For example the Firstborn Great Swordsmen can not sweep. This does not make sense to me can someone explain. Was it an oversight?

I think I am going to allow mine to sweep...

Normally this is simply errata, but if in doubt, always go with the listing of the weapons on pages 98 to 101. Often in games the description part is just fluff, but in Chronopia 2e your right there are rules and modifiers listed in the description. Read on Two-Handed Weapons (p 94) and in the third paragraph it reads: "When a Model armed with certain Two-Handed weapon is in Close Combat with multiple attackers he may perform a Sweep Attack."

The key is interpreting the meaning of "certain", it uses the term: Certain and in the context of this sentence that would mean only some two handed weapons, and not others.  Which ones, the ones listed with May Sweep.

"When you use certain two handed weapons you can make a Sweep attack.

Any two handed weapon with the listed "May Sweep"

I have my rule book handy so if you want any more help just post.

Got it, your right

"When a Model armed with certain Two-Handed weapon is in Close Combat with multiple attackers he may perform a Sweep Attack. A Sweep Attack allows the model to whirl its weapon around in a great arc to attempt to hit every model in base-to-base contact with it all in one Close Combat attack."

Oh well, firstborn great swordsman! Seeing as how two handed weapons are generally support weapons this would have been a nice tactical advantage. Trying to make my cards as complete as I can.
