Command Helmet & Force Commander
« on: January 28, 2006, 08:16:54 AM »
I'm trying to figure out a few things..

Division Commanders have roughly the same abilities as Rally and Give Orders?

Force commander can "activate any friendly squad who's squad leader is in LOS"
With command helmet you can "tactical sense and give orders .. to any squad in LOS who is equipped with a Squad Comm Link, if a successful LD check is made"
So a force commander's only benefit from having a command helmet is to "give" tactical sense to other squads in LOS?

In effect the Force Commander acts as the Tac Sensing model.

is there more to this question?

Uhm, I didn't understand that much your answer.. could you just go for a yes/no to my questions?  :)

(btw, I put a "the" too much in the first question, just fixed it!)

Give orders:
..may spend an action and give orders to any friendly, inactivated unit, with at least one model within the individual model's command distance... giving orders ends a model's turn.

Commander: unit
..can use an action to activate a friendly squad of similar type, so long as that squad's leader is within the model's command distance..

So they are not the same. Give orders requires to be close to at least one model, commander requires to be close to squad's leader. Give orders ends model's turn, Commander doesn't.

Is this correct?

hrmm.. ok i see what you're gettin at.

(now i've gotta go check and see whether the Commanders have G.O. implicitly or if that's a unique ability to them.  For the moment play it as a Commander not ending his turn when he G.O.'s but he has to finish his activiation before the squad he activated activates.)
