Off to the Races II
« on: August 22, 2009, 12:07:41 PM »
With the first chariot building competition done (and so many of you with models in various states of completion) we have decided to start Chariot Building Competition Round II- Off to the Races.

Rules are the same as in the prior contest (but I will repost here) and the deadline will be Talaminia IV, where they will be judged live!

So with many more months to go- HAVE AT IT!!!!

RULES

   1.     Entries must be submitted in final form by photos by midnight on 08/15/09, or else be disqualified.
   2.     Final entry photos must include a left, right, center, rear and overhead shot of the model(s).
   3.     Only one (1) entry per category per person.
   4.     All entry designs must be chariot styled (i.e.- a conveyance pulled by something).
   5.     All entries must be based so they could be used in game play.
   6.     All entries must use models designed for the two games. Alterations to the posing, etc…are allowed.
   7.     Conversions are welcomed so long as the basic figures and such remain identifiable.
   8.     If a model has not been released for the games and you have made a proxy for it yourself, that is allowed. Substitution of another company’s models is not encouraged. Scratch
            built vehicles are welcomed.
   9.     Creativity is the name of this game, though it is set within the framework of the two settings. Make sure your entries adhere to the designs and motifs established therein.

JUDGING

Judges will rank entries based on the following five criteria:

  1.     Overall Design. How well the model is crafted and assembled, how well it conveys movement and action.
  2.     Creativity. How well the model captures the flavor of the game/race/rules.
  3.     Basing. How well the base completes and compliments the model you created.
  4.     Quality of Conversions. Pretty self evident.
  5.     Painting. Including technique, neatness, skill in execution, coherent color scheme, and overall appearance.

Since the entires will be judged at Talamania IV you might want to change rules 1 & 2.

AH, but not all judges will be there personally so we will need to see them together and the web allows us to do it.  So you still have to post the pics.

You will want to change the date as well.  This is good, I worked on my chariot for Capitol while on vacation and now that my move is finally complete, I can get it finished.

What parts do you need?

Always look out for number one, but don't step in number two.

I traded my last two to Dragon sorry. I am using Wailing Banshees instead.

Almost finished with the Orca and rider. Had a little issue with the wheels. Now they are just right. Pictures to follow soon.

Frickin' Awesome!

Here is an update:

Orca and rider - complete
Base - complete

Pictures below:

The rider will match the two Banshees that will be pulling the Orca. You may notice the "hook" in the front of the Orca and the wheelie bar in the back. The hardest part was figuring out the wheels and how to attach them. I had to use the Autocannon instead of the Flamer option for the Orca to accomodate the wheels.

I have started paitnting the Banshees and the next hurtle will be the flames/pins for the Banshees and connecting the two pullers to the Orca with picture wire.
