I like CAV quite a bit.  I'd agree that it's not as fiddly and recordkeeping intensive as B-tech, but I think it's deeper than Epic.  I'm currently having a bunch of CAVs painted up in colors to mimic some iconic Transformers.

I hope the new paint jobs will be more than meets the eye.

Post them when you are able. Thanks

Dave McGee has painted up his starter box, but isn't finished yet.  They already look incredible so far.

He said he dry brushed them and picked out some details. They looked great even at that.

They're notoriously slow with CAV.  They have more resources and energy devoted to their fantasy products.  I'm not worried about the book.  You can get the rules online, or off of the disc with the starter box, and all of the data cards are on Reapergames.

There's more than enough to work with.

It's not the micro managing of Battletech, a little more beer and pretzels, but not too shallow either.  It is fun and the models are beautiful.

iirc, its more than notoriously slow with CAV.  Its Epic Fail level of Blindness according to my source.  He feels its the best version yet... but they are screwing the pooch as bad as Mongoose does with everything Mini related by not getting off their duffs and releasing it.  Such is life.....

Some of my CAV stuff (not the Transformer-CAVs, though) can be seen here.  I'm working on loads of infantry and some more flyers now.

Wow, that's some great painting!  I would be proud to field those painted minis any time.  Nicely done :).
Total models painted for the year 2011: 14

<The Goal: exceed 534 painted models in one year>
*End Date: Dec. 25th 2011*
2010- 294 (fail)

Thanks for the compliments.  I'll post pics of my masses of infantry when they are done.  I'm also cannibalizing figs from other games/lines for use in CAV.

I'm ready to send Ed Pugh, president of Reaper, a nasty message for getting me hooked on yet another game, more models, and more hemorraging of my wallet.    >:(

I own a rule book.... but no CAVs.

I happen to play Battletech.... and with over 300 mechs, I should think not wanting to branch out into something else would be understandable. :)

Sell the 'mechs.  They're getting premium dollars on eBay, right now.  CAV is better.  Of course, this is only my opinion/suggestion, but anytime you want a run-through, let me know.  The game is very cool.
If sing, sang, and sung, sink, sank, and sunk, and drink, drank, and drunk, how is it that it isn't bring, brang, and brung, think, thank and thunk, and ding, dang, and dung?

Don't even get me started about bad, badder and baddest.  Run, ran AND run...again?  C'mon!

Considering the # of them I have, I think perhaps I should do that.

I have about a hundred of them still in blister....  Perhaps I need to get with someone with an Ebay account.
