*looks over at the shelves packed with minis*- I think I still could use a little more.  I will be painting minis till I die. :-[

I just can't give up that feeling of excitement when I open up a new game that has fists full of minis inside.  You know you too grab through those minis like Cookie Moster on speed when you open'em up. ;) They all have a place in my home.

Glenn, I really want to hear your opinion (others as well) about the AT-43 game/fluff/ value for the money when you get a chance.  Basically, if the "game flow" is worth it to someone who enjoys quick & easy pick up games with friends.  I have been looking at this game off and on for a while.  I just wish someone around played it so I could get the scoop on it.
Total models painted for the year 2011: 14

<The Goal: exceed 534 painted models in one year>
*End Date: Dec. 25th 2011*
2010- 294 (fail)

I dove into AT-43 when the last big sale hit.  The rules are very solid and there's a nicely innovative iniative system as well as on objective based system for bringing on reinforcements - the rulebook is essential since the mini-rulebook that comes with the starter damocles set is incomplete.

The expansions have nice additional rules to them as well.

I love the Red Blok stuff - and have used the Therians in UWZ as an Alien race.

Hey All,

www.tanga.com is currently running a UNA AT-43 Special.

Sorry Glenn (and everyone else who is trying to live within a budget...) the temptation never stops!

Thanks for all the comments on the game system so far.  I might avoid buying a bunch of AT-43 figs, but will probably see if any of the usual locals are playing.

Everyone have a great week!

Also found some of my Karmen miniatures.Might end up ordering a few more for them too  ;).

CURSES, I have no moneys.  Anyone want some minis, I've got your minis right here, come on, any takers, I need $43 in my Paypal account in about ten minutes!!

Is it sad I am not entirely kidding.

EDIT:  I can also mod original Xbox consoles to play emulators (NES, SNES, etc.) as well as PSP's.  I normally charge $20 each . . . . .
God I sound desperate.

You know what, after looking that the deal.  I save a measly $6 purchasing from tanga compared to TheWarStore.  Granted, that's a savings, but I have to buy what they want, and not necessarily what I want.  So let's keep that in mind.

Also, www.miniaturemarketplace.com has about the same prices as TheWarStore.

I just want to point out to any Cyber players that the UNA Deathdealer Tacarms box gets you 6 three barrelled gatling guns for doing conversions (like Machinator Mk II HMG Specialists).
Fear my ability to teleport hand grenades into your pants..........without the pin or spoon !!!!

Well, my brother and I played through the first two scenarios from the starter set.

It's is a good game, solid in concept and fun to play.  It is not overly complex (at least the small games aren't, not sure yet about the full game) and is a good amount of fun.  They simplified a fair few common game concepts, such as measuring range from leader to leader, rather than model to model, which save a lot of time and excess effort.  I think it's score a solid 8/10 without playing any further, could it be better, sure, I can't see why not, but it's great on it's own.

My order arrived this morning. The Red Block book is very good at first glance.I also got a few Karman pieces. My next purchase looks like it will be more Karman and a few Red Block items. The Frostbite set might be a good buy too.Still cheaper to order from the US and pay postage than to get them in the UK.

Well if you like the starter set, I think you'll enjoy the full blown rules even more.

I am in the process of arranging a trade for another starter, the full rules, and a Therian and UNA rulebook.  So I shall have a good sized force to work with to get us rolling, though we'll need to invest in some supplementary troops for sure.

If you like the game and plan on playing it Frostbite is nice.  If not, wait for an excellent price, then the templates, terrain and models will be worth it.

I agree, I managed to pick up a Frostbite box for about 20 ducats.  Nice set.

It is very much in the vein of the UWZ supplements we planned, with a special book to cover the issues specific to the area in question.  That is the main thrust of this product, not a new batch of minis (you get three I believe).  20 sounds like a good price.

I already have two of the starter sets and several additional boxes for UNA and the Therians.I still need ti invest in more Karmen then onto the Red Blok.
The Dust comic's from Paulo Parente are cool too.In a similar vein to AT-43 but an alternative weird war thing going on.The Dust game is in the works and they have some cool concept pieces up.

I think I've read somewhere that the Dust minis will be compatible with AT-43 and vice versa.
