Army List Ideas Request
« on: September 03, 2008, 06:03:48 PM »
Hey all -

Going straight to the source for the goods I need.  First, some background.

Chronopia was played by a handful of guys I knew in school, all of whom have since moved on, left town, gotten married, had kids, etc. etc.  You know the story.  Recently, some of the other gamers that I know from back in the day have expressed an interest in doing some small-scale gaming.  Mordheim has been tossed around since most of the guys have WHFB armies they can pull troops from to build a warband.

I am tossing Chronopia out as an idea with the added benefit that I'll supply a limited selection of models for "tryouts".

For myself, all I played back in the day was Devout.  I am in the process of acquiring Stygian, Sons of Kronos, Elves, and considering some Firstborn.

Can you, the resident 'net experts, supply me with your favorite 500 and 750 point army lists for these forces?  Rather than randomly buy up models that I may never use, I'd rather focus on the models that will get used in a starter force for guys new to Chronopia, but familiar with tabletop gaming in general.

If you want to post the lists, cool.  If you prefer to PM them, also cool.  Any input is greatly appreciated and will speed up some actual gaming for a change  ;D

Cheers & thanks for any ideas!
What, these?  I've had these minis forever dear, they were just in a box in the garage.... :D

My favorite 500 points for  First Born.... or at least a good basic force to put on the table.  All are around 500 points.

Two swordsmen Warbands (5x swords, great sword, leader each)
Judge
Marksman

Chronomancer with simple spells.
Iron Guard
Swordsman

Black Sisters
Black Sister Champ
Archers

Judge
two units Macemen
archers

How'd I miss this post?  Shame!!  I'll start cooking up some Devout and Elf Lists, and see who can recommend a good Stygian force.

Excellent!  It's all falling into place...   /mr. burns

Thanks Archer - I wound up with a swordsman warband out of a recent ebay deal and I have a couple FB character models.  I should be able to get the rest without too much problem.

Josh - looking forward to it.  I've got enough Devout to probably put together at least 2 playable 500pt warbands, so any suggestions would be great.

Thanks guys!

You're welcome.  They were fast lists based on the likely findable models out there.  The Champ is a proxy model unless you have spare Sister Leader.

You might also try the "Deathmatch" rules on coki's site, or use Josh's or my own Half-warband theory.   The bonus is less minis, all the fun. ;D

Yeah, I was looking at the deathmatch rules over lunch today.  I do believe we're going to have to give that a shot, it looks like a great game mod.

I need to paint some minis up and get cranking on some terrain again.  Just got some hirst molds, time to start casting blocks!

If you've time for kicking the tires on the streetfight rules/half warband rules, post your reports, as we would love your feedback.
