@NTN - The Black Hole and Johnny Mnemonic over Tron????  Buddy, say it ain't so--   ??? :o ;D

you misunderstood me!

the _cyberspace-depicturing_ of tron was awsome and only years later someone showed a good cyberspace, i know of (JM)

the black hole as an expample of a very nice _disney_-depicturing of something not childish, as expected by your friend

Hey MadBrad - I only remember 3 white books - what are the others?

D

Top three, next to box are the base set.  Men and Magic, Monsters and Treasure, and The Dungeon and Wilderness Adventure (something like that..).

The next 4 are the expansions, Greyhawk, Blackmoor, Eldritch Wizardry and God's Demi-gods and Heroes.
Cybertronic - Superior by design

Okay - now you're making me bust out some serious old school--

Remember these bad boys?

The quest for Wave, Whelm, and Blackrazor!

Yes - yes, I do remember those.  ::sniff::
If sing, sang, and sung, sink, sank, and sunk, and drink, drank, and drunk, how is it that it isn't bring, brang, and brung, think, thank and thunk, and ding, dang, and dung?

Don't even get me started about bad, badder and baddest.  Run, ran AND run...again?  C'mon!

I really hated playing Tomb O' Horrors.  I've had some pretty screwed up DM's send my party thru there.

I loved putting players thru that module.  Ran it at conventions for years... and of the seven parties sent through it, four never made it out, two had partial success (50% attrition) and the last one lost two of their six before saying screw it and attempting to get out.  They lost another two getting out. :)

So in seven games, I had a total of 51 PC's attempt it (largest party was eleven, smallest was 5, the rest ran in the area of 6-8) with an attrition rate of 84% (8 of 51 survived- though one of the survivors spent a lot of time with the clerics attempting to get his mind back.  (the GM of the player in question said he was going to enforce a derangement on him when next their campaign met)

Don't forget about Expedition to the Barrier Peaks!  A gateway game into Star Frontiers.  Later on, the entire Lolth campaign (G1-3, D1-2, Q1) was absolutely awesome!

Exped was a blast...  The Loth campaign cost me five PC's... and others two or three.

Exped was AWESOME!  Loved that Bullette (sp?) battle and the Mind Flayer encounter.  Demonweb Pits was EPIC!  I also enjoyed Isle of Dread and Castle D'Amberville, though these came later.

At the time of Exped, we used a critical hit chart that used a 30-sided die.  I'll never forget the expression on the face of my friend Kevin when his dwarf got his brains pushed out his ears by a Vegepygmie wielding a lead pipe.  He used to chew on the yellow PaperMate mechanical pencils and I still chuckle when I remember it dropping from his slack-jawed, dumfounded face.

I have great mempries of the Drow series.  Isle has had many incanations in my DMing experience.  The last time was a cross between Isle O' Death and Call of Cthullu, all of which was set in Newhon.
Castle D'Amberville was used in a Middlearth campaign to much success.

I remember running a Chateu D'Amberville game for a group years ago,  I don't remember the details... but I do remember them taking over the place in the end.  And a number of adventures stemmed from there...

I was always partial to the UK series of modules, especially The Sentinel, and it's followup, The Gauntlet.  Great times.
May the Dark Lords of Lead-Free Pewter smile kindly upon you.

I've never seen those.  What were they about?

@DogOWar - I had a group of players take over a dungeon once as their HQ - it was quite amusing.
