Conversion Problem
« on: April 09, 2008, 06:11:44 PM »
I was hoping to do a head swap on the Brotherhood "Baldie" Sgt but all the heads I have looked at appear to be too small to work. Perhaps it is because the old head is there and that is throwing my eye off. Anyone done any work on this fig and have suggestions?

Is this the old elite trooper with the ginormous head?  I swapped mine with a much smaller head and it looks fine.

Yes and thanks for the encouraging word. I am wanting to remove the Super Cranium and chain ripper blade. Then I was hoping to add a Space Marine Scout head and use it as the Elite Trooper Mystic Specialist.

That should turn out fine.  It's strange but once you do that the figure just looks like it has bulky armor.  It should be an easy conversion.  Make sure you scream "There can be only one!" as you cut the head off.  That and have his quickening and take his woman before the pewters is cold.  On second thought, that may be going a bit far.  On the bright side, I have found a use for that oversized melon to be revealed in a few weeks.

Great idea guys.  Never even thought of trying to convert that horrible figure.  Seems like its worth a try.
Back in my day we didn't have that fancy non-toxic pewter stuff.  We played with lead, LEAD I TELL YA! and we liked it.

The effect is good-it makes it see like he's wearing bulky armor rather than a really short 54mm fig.  When I start my brotherhood project in a few months you can see the end result.

Thanks!  No one ever gets that (or if they do they don't admit it).

Hell, I thought it was so funny I shared it on Reapers' forum and The Forum of Doom!!  You're a comedic genius.
