Elf Pics

Post painted pics of your Elf forces here.  Use a direct link from photobucket or whatever place you store your pics.  If one day we get a new gallery, we can organize all the pictures accordingly.

The blue gems on the golem are something!  I haven't got the technique to get that yet.  Soon.

I had these Crucible Elves painted up to use as Dragon Skull Warriors.  I got'em dirt cheap at a game store clearing out stuff, so I sent them to Brand X.  As usual, they rocked.

Those aren't Crucible elves, they're Leviathan.  And they did an EXCELLENT job on the paint - those sculpts are a little on the crude and blocky side.

If you don't mind me asking, what did the paint jobs cost you?

Thanks for the correction Alex, they are indeed Leviathan!!  D'oh!!  :-[

Standard rate for Brand X is five bucks a model at that level!!  As I'm buying very few new models, I'd rather spend my cash on getting some figs painted.

They are very big, blocky models, and almost size 3 in our game, but until I get Fracesco's Dragon Warriors painted, they'll be my squad, and then later, I'll just have to field two squads.  Cheese.  Swiss.  Provolone.  Gouda, etc.

Only five dollars a model for that quality?

Damn, that's pretty great.  I'll have to look into having them do some work for me... I'm a decent painter, but I'm slow as hell and I don't have a lot of free time these days, either.

I'm pretty sure I've got four or eight of those "Dragonskull" elves somewhere in a box, too, and for the same reason...

Nice paint job on them!
Always look out for number one, but don't step in number two.

I'm happy with Brand X, hence my pimping them out, and I spend more time just assembling and converting models than I do painting.  I don't even find it relaxing this time of year, and my German Shepherd, Daisy, would rather be out walking me at nights than sittin' around the house while I paint.  Slow time of year.

Had a little inspiration to try some emblems on the elven shields.  Probably about the best I can do.  Also my first attempts at a "snake eye" on the belts.

First try at the cracked look on the golem. . . gemwork needs some refining too, but overall I'm happy with the result.  Have a couple more primed that need paint, so maybe they will end up better.

It's very interesting how you guys chose original painting schemes. I think this gallery will be used not only for the pleasure of seeing nice minis painted, but to get some suggestion about the style of an army. I really appreciated the military green elves with the snake. This choice seems to emphatyse the samourai elements they've got, such as the standard on the back. Nice.
