Cave System - WIP
« on: April 05, 2008, 06:14:12 PM »
Another one of my many projects, I am also building a Cave System using my Hirst Arts molds.

I am waiting for most of my pieces to dry, what is there is a little less (Missing two or three sections) than one casts worth of the two wall molds.  The floors I am ahead on as I am recycling my Descent floors.

I think I may have a few too many projects . . . . . nah.

Later,
Glenn

Looks like you and Hirst are going to save me a bundle that would have went for Dwarven Forge stuff.

Well, DF is really nice stuff, but it does get expensive.  A lot more so than the Hirst stuff.

It really depends on what your needs are, I like being able to make as much as I want, and sell it off if need be.  To get the 4 basic cave molds you are looking at $130 or so.  Which is a lot, but then, you can make as much as you'll ever need.

Anyways, thanks for the compliments.

We have expanded!

You can expect me to about double in the next week or so as well.  I am also going to add some fieldstone sections and perhaps some brickwork.  There will be more detail pieces added, including a small pond (some 8-12 square inches), some sweet pillars, etc.

Actually the fieldstone looks really good in the green, I'll post a few pictures of that later.

Anyways, I used Bruce's suggested colors.

I have been slacking for figures as I don't feel like digging around for painted guys.

Looks like I need to do about 3 times this much to have a good sized cave.  Man, that is a lot of work.

Are you using this stuff to game with or just building it for the heck of it?!?!?!  I ask because I'm recently playing a Savage Worlds RPG in a fantasy setting on Sundays now, and loving it.  I gave up on RPG's for Chronopia, but Savage Worlds is truly cool, and recaptures that feeling you had as a kid when you first played D&D.

I will be using it for D&D, and possibly for some D&D Miniatures and Chronopia.  If I come to Talamania II, I'll be bringing it as well.

Now wait a minute, what happened to you not having enough room?

Anyways, as this one will be used regularly I can keep it, if it comes to not using it, then maybe it'll go.
