Brand X painting is the place he sent them to be painted. Thats not his paint job. His scheme but not his handy work. He sent them to Utah to be done for him.

Well then, I have to ask, how much was it to have that figure painted?

I mean, it is decent table top quality as best I can tell, but for a professionally painted miniature, that doesn't seem that impressive.

That's their "basic level": five bucks.  Basing will be included but isn't done yet.  I could have spent more in 1/2 increments upwards for different levels.  Go see their gallery at www.brandxpainting.com and see if you like their work.

I'm finding them very pleasant and professional to deal with, and I'm keeping this as a log of the experience, in case anyone decides to use a painting service.  'Never thought I would, but now instead of spending all my coin on even more models, I can spend it on getting some armies painted, spend the time painting on armies I should have done, learn new techniques on individual character models that are slowly getting applied to my other armies, and clean up the house!!

My goal is to have any Chronopia army available to play at my spot.  Whatever list you come up with, I want to pretty much be able to have it.

Ok, that standard looks a lot better.  And for $5 that seems to be a pretty good deal.

The grunts at the basic level are better than almost everything I've done.  I'm working on finishing my Dwarves, as they are my favorites, and I may spend a few more bucks on the individuals to bring up the quality.  I've no wife and kids to worry about, and I'd rather pay for painting than new metal!!  Models are skyrocketing; I've taken to picking up stuff almost exclusively from ebay and closeout sales, and always try to get free shipping on anything newer.

I've been doing the same Josh - found a great painter to knock out a load of my grunt troops and saving characters for myself.  I just don 't have time to paint ALL the stuff I have AND have a life.  :D

Hello all! My name is Thomas and I'm the one painting Joshua's Firstborn. He said I should go ahead and post the WIP pictures we have so far here. You will be able to see them below. I want to thank everyone for their kind words thus far.

The models should be completely finished by the end of this week so you will get to see finished pictures as well.

As Joshua mentioned, these are at our Basic Level which is right around tabletop quality. If you're curious about getting something done, feel free to let me know. Turnaround time is fairly quick. With an army this size (around 100 figs), it's usually about 2 weeks. That allows us to inventory the models, assign a painter, paint it, photograph it and send it to you. We can do assembly as well.

Thanks!

Thomas
