Again, seems like things are a bit slow right now for the Maplewood gang.  Dog days of summer got you guys down or just taking a break from the heat?

We interupt this episode of "Mars Has Talent" for a breaking report:

The High Chieftain of the Grand Wolf Council has been dead for less than a month, and already the tenuous peace on Callisto has turned to bloodshed. The Chairman's office has reported that a squad of Capitol Heavy Infantry on patrol was savagely and unwarentedly attacked by forces belonging to Warchief Collum "Ginger" Kidde, of the Red Howlers Wolf Pack.  Warchief Kidde is one of the leading candidates for High Chieftain, along with "The Masher King" Chieftain of the Savage Claws Pack which has been terrorizing the outer colonies for the past few years.  James "Destro" McCullen, CEO of Military Armament Research Syndicate, an independant minor corporation with aledged ties to the terrorist organization COBRA, who is also a contender for the High Chieftainhood due to his hereditary link to the previous High Cheiftain had this to say:

"We at MARS are deeply saddened by this wretched display cowardice by Warchief "Ginger" Kidde.  Therefore, MARS will be deploying it's Iron Grenadiers to support elements from the Capitol Penal Forces 9th Battalion, "The Dismal Dishonored" , which are being dispatched to deal with this new threat."

We now return you to your regular programming.

Sunday, I showed one of the kids at Maplewood how to play.  It was a small 200 point game, between a Wolfhound Commando squad and a Capitol HI squad. "Ginger Kid" as we call him, pulled off the win after mowing down half the squad with his HMG specialist.  He can't wait to play again, and another of the younger guys wants to play too. (Bauhaus for him)

Looks like the saga is BACK!

Long live the saga. It has long been missing from the forums pages.

You could bring them, but I don't know if you're ready to start being humiliated again.

On Ganymede ....The estate of Thomas Bartholomew.

" Sir was it wise to promise the hand of your daughter to that...that Wolfpack cheiftain Robert?"

"Dont be foolish, I told him he had do job for me before he can wed Julie. He will fail and die. I've seen to that. Julie will put him behind her, after much tears of course and marry Chester Murdoch like I planned all along."

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Surround by the blood and gore...a blind rage fueling his limbs.
He drew in a deep breath.
Wolfpack Chieftain Robert roared and his War Cry shook the Heavens.
Headhunters to his right and left Charged forward.
....Krarak the Keeper  braced for the end.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
1500 points of dark legion llian
karak, Mercurian Maculator, VAhl'dreed and rest are children  squads (something like 70+ children)

1500 points of wolf pack
Lots of headhunters, Wolfbarins, gendarmes, vermin apc.

table city board

Great battle between Steve and I.
To my left Karak the Keeper
to my right Mercurian Maculator and VAhl'dreed
everywhere else CHILDERN LOTS AND LOTS OF CHILDERN.

The vermin APC rides up to my left with load of head hunters to take on Karak the Keeper.

in my left deployment zone is a Eldar chieftain, squad of Headhunters and Wolfbarins.
they take on 2 squads of children..... they kill them and run off to help my right flank.

On my right the Mercurian Maculator and VAhl'dreed kill off the gendarmes.
the headhunter squad cuts its way though a squad of Children to get to the Mercurian Maculator killing it.
Children cut though half of a Wolfbarin squad.
Combined elements from my left and right flank finish off Vahl'dreed and children supporting him.
they  run back to my left flank to take on Krarak the Keeper.

Krarak and the children kill of a squad of headhunters and the Vermin APC.

by this time most of my forces (that I had left) make it into charge range.
The elder chieftain gives a war cry 2 headhunter squads charge Karak.
After much dice rolling he falls.

Wolf pack wins.

Thoughts: great game....rules slowly coming back.
in the mid game I thought Steve's swarms will overwhelm my forces....the fact that headhunters have two wounds was big time life saver.....got damn lucky with Mercurian Maculator (almost ran out of attacks to bring it down).
The game had awesome end with Chieftain warcry leading the charge on Krarak.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lud the Headhunter was gleefully stringing together his fresh trophies when he looked up and notice a grim look on chief Roberts face.
"Why the long look Robert...we are at winning end of a Great battle! time for drinking, women, feasting ..."

"Aye Lud, a great battle but this is only the start...now we see if Bartholomew will keep his word
We won here,  will he honor my engagement to his daughter?"

Lud splat "that Bartholomew is a snake."
"come now lad, save those worries for tomorrow. Lets enjoy the victory"
