who will win
« on: December 13, 2005, 10:06:57 AM »
For those who care.

JIbba.. and I are having our "Get me the head of Agent Nick Micheals" game this weekend and just for fun who you think will win (this would make for great smack talk fodder ;D).

You got Captiol vrs. Cartel
Cartel won a very close game last time due to Agent Micheals.
Captiol hurting from last battle (the pain has a name: AGENT NICK MICHEALS) and now has their chance for vengence?
its a indoor battle on a Bahaus luxury liner The Steiner Star.

so what are the odds for bets.
can O' Nick pull out other last minute victory or will Captiol win one and take O'Nick as the prize.

Damn, we can't let there be a Strategic Insight Gap!

It'll get to the point where we are rolling Inits in the triple digits. :)

Capitol wins - That's too easy.....take one or two Demo Specs and just frag the entire ship. Suicide mission to be sure but unless Zaphod Beeblebrox and the Infinite Improbability Drive exist in the Warzone Universe Nicky-boy is stone cold dead.  :o

Seriously I have to give the edge to the Cartel. Clearing a sturcture in a room to room sweep is one of the toughest operations there is and unless the Capitol player is willing to frag and/or full auto sweep every room he will loose. Even then it will take a large force as each squad must not only sweep their assigned rooms - they will also have to provide cover for the room sweepers. Eventually the covering troops will fail a roll to come off wait and then the Cartel will kick them square in the butt.

Take a squad of Free Marines and a Squad of AssMars w/HMG.  Lead the way with the FreMen and anything they can't manage to beat to death in CC let the AssMars Deadshoot.  A very selective HMGer with Deadshot can mow through engaged CC units in PB like nothing.

For added fun, take HI with Snipers.  The Manstalker is absolutly brutal in closeish quarters.

If played properly i'd give Capitol the advantage.  provided there aren't many FT's on the Cartel side.

I, unfortunatly, have neither. :(

However, I do have quite a few Sunset Strikers, including 2 or so FT specialists.

Wow you guys got some brutal methods for dealing with indoor combat.

I have few ideas for a follow up mission and funny enough one them is pretty close to this minus the improbaility drive :P

I was usin' 'em as Freedom Brigades, but I do have some Free Marines coming as a X-mas present.  I was probably gonna go CGF anyway, since I have the most of them.

at least, until after the holidays....

Sorry Bro but against a well built Cartel force with Snipers and Darkslayer Mercs (Shotguns w/ Flamer Specs) the Cappys are gonna get fragged, bagged, and tagged not to mention quick fried to a crackly crunch. Cartel should just force the Caps to come down the corridors and light them up as they come. Since holding the ship is not an objective a running gun battle will play to the Cartel's strengths and exploit the 500 pound gorilla on Capitol's back - to whit Capitol must find and assassinate Nick Michaels. They can't sit or dig in - they must move and by moving they will run into a hornet's nest if the Cartel player has a basic understanding of Shipboard tactics. Now add a Mishima Doomtrooper team - the one best suited for this scenario IMHO - and it's Little Bighorn time for Capitol
