so maybe this isnt the right time to mention this, but i'd love to hear the results of a game between the vulkan army of death and one of the (illegal?) super lists mentioned previously...

Nope- very legal.  All built using the rulesd as written in the current rulebook. :)  And I can't build any of them- the closest I come is the Cyber only because I have enough Machinators to do it.  (I can almost field 1k alone in those)

jjdodger might have the minis for it though.

If the VAoD player got to use the same rules its no contest, The VAoD is a very tough force to beat if you dont build an army just to fight it, with extra support slots it becomes darn near impossible. But I wouldnt mind trying  ;D

The funny thing is, @ the point level, the VAoD cannot take very much more.  Three Troops, 3 Vk squads and a leader.  Thats it...

I can "ALMOST" do it.. i think i am short by 6 machs, though, i would need to double check that.  if i were to proxy mach 2's for 1's, then i can definitly field it, though one scorp would be a shiny metal one... I havent had a chance/need to paint it yet.  What i could do, and would almost be better, would be to swap the 2 squads of 5 mach I's for 2 squads of 4xMach II's (that ATS10 attack would be pretty nasty if they didnt manage to kill a vulcan!) and, there are enough points left over to give the mach IIs ablative armor.. almost bringing them on par with the vulcans.

here is a question, though.. with the scorps, do you use slugs or templates on the vulcans? more potential damage, or more potential rolls, especially if more than one fits under the template?

on a side note, when i get around to painting that one, someone remind me to leave the hind quarters shiny metal.. ("Kiss my shiny metal..")

Jeff

For the scorpions Id go with the template. The more rolls , the more chances for wounds. Even if you dont hit dead on the Vulkans would have to roll.

Nope- very legal.

Archer

I think he was refering to the lists of NOTrollNick with the 1to1 support units.

Bryon.. thats te way i would play it. The more you make your opponent roll for wounds, the more likely he will fail!

And I counter your counter with squads of Heretic Legionnaires of Semai, each with it's very own Callistonian Sundancer.

Touche, though the Cartel has yet to go up against the full fury, Masher.  What they faced was a bit watered down.

Psssh!!! full fury indeed. What you shoot 129 times rather then 114 times....it matters not cause agents have AR 17.. 17!!    cause armor will just slow down there charge punk :P

There has never been a confirmed kill against any Semai force......we remove all ID before battle and sew fake corporate logos into our underwear so others get blamed for our misdeeds.  ;D
