Question about fire based weapons
« on: October 30, 2005, 09:05:03 PM »
i ask on the example
"Dragon Hammer (page 98 ):
      Fire-based +2,  +3"

It is said what means Bludgeoning for each "+1, +2 etc."
but what exacly means fire based +2 ?

This weapon (Dragon hammer) have dam of "ST +3" and now additional +2 fire damage ?
Do all inflicted damage is fire based or only this 2 ? If I hit a fire imune creature will damage will be reduced by 2 or atacked (for example fire elemental) compleatly can't take a wound from Dragon Hammer.

Verbatim from the previous forum:

Quote
Fire-based weapons or powers should also increase the Damage done by the weapon
when used against natives of severely cold-centered realms or those beings who,
by their profession have become innured to the cold and actually thrive in it.
This does not mean that the Sons of Kronos who live in the harsh environs of
the cold Chronopian North are in this category. They would not be simply by
virtue of the fact that while they have built up a tolerance for the cold, they
have not begun to develop an aversion to heat. They prefer to stay warm just
like any human. The Crystal Knights of the Elven Houses however have crossed
the line from preferring cold to actually avoiding heat. (Please note a Blue
Lotus Eater does not qualify as one of these types but a SIlver Lotus Eater
does).

That's the most specific elaboration on the application of the fire-based bonus damage I've seen so far. Not exactly an explicit unit list, but close enough that my fluff-loving half is satisfied. (My logic-worshipping half would like to have all vulnerabilities explicitly stated, but he's not happy until EVERYTHING can be described algorithmically.)
