Strike Kommandos, page 210
« on: October 21, 2005, 01:20:02 AM »
Hello

I have a Question regarding the Bauhaus Strike Kommandos (page. 210)
Both the Sergeant and the Flame Thrower specialist use directly placed Template Weapons only. Thats not the problem, but: both habe the DEATHSHOT  special Abillity. Does this means that they can fire into CC with their Weapons??? I cant imagine that it is possible to do this without harming your own Models, but they have the SA.
Clarification, Please.

They have the Deadshot ability to keep them in line with the rest of their squad.

When firing a template weapon into close combat you hit the models in order from closest to farthest up to the Cluster Effect (or just all of them if an FT).  Deadshot does not let you shoot around friendlies in CC.

lol

Just because the commados in question have been given template weapons does not nullify their previous training. Their deadshot skill is still there; it is just not used in favor of a TMD. Look at it this way. If you had a black belt in karate firing a flamethrower does not dimish your martial arts expertise. You are merely trading one skill for something that can do more than you by itself.

How about if I'm firing a shotgun into CC, could I place the template so that it only covers enemy models?

Nope...CC is a whirling mass of feints, counters, and all round chaotic kill or be killed brawl...it ain't fencing with foils and scorecards.

what DMCGEE said.  You start with the closest model to the firing modeland proceed back until the Cluster Effect number is reached.

Well, I was thinking that if two models are in base contact, and the figure with the shotgun is like, 3 inches to the side of them, does the template HAVE to cover both of them, or could I place it so it is still firing from the front arch, just at enough of an angle to hit only one of them?
