.. but brake fluid smells bad and  I feel horrible dumping the leftover in the sink or outdoors.  The stuff might be toxic and harmful.
well..

1. it smells less then normal sovant. it is rather oily..
2. you donīt need to dump it. keep it in a jar and use it 2-3+ times.
3. any car shop or gas station/mechanic should have a way to get rid of break fluid.. bring the jar with you.

i think your ecological sense is a nice thing. we hear a lot about thirsty usa cars & not signed kyoto-protocol
btw, one liter gas costs about 1.3 E now...

Non-acetone nail-polish remover works well too.

Combat Zone has a website called Combat Zone Chronicles that has some pretty good modeling ideas.

Aldrien: what you forgot to include is that 1 gallon [US, liquid] = 3.785 liters..  so..  a gallon of gas is almost 5 euro, at current exchange rates, thats $6.70!  can someone check my math.. that seems awful high..

1.3E/L * 3.785l/G=4.9205E/G;
1E = $1.362
4.9205E/G*1.362$/E=$6.70/G

OUCH!

At that price, i'd walk a mile for a loaf of bread..

In comparison: here on the east coast, 1 gallon of gas = $2.60

2.60$/G * 0.264G/L = 0.6864$/L
$1 = .734 E
.6846$/L*.734E/$ = .51 E/L

Presuming the math is right..    in Bonn, gas is 1.3E pre Liter, in south jersey, its .51E per Liter.
ouch.

Europe seems to have better public transport than here in the US.

The Philadelphia area actually has a reasonable and mostly timely public transit system. For some reason tho, most people that use it dont have cars. It seems that once you get a car no one wants to take public transportation anymore.

Im lucky that I dont have to pay for gas, my company pays for it for me. $3.00/Gal makes even me think twice, I stay home a whole lot more than I used to.

it gets worse.. today i took gas (98 octane, super) at 1,37 E....

Europe seems to have better public transport than here in the US.
that may be, but a trip to the city by bus (~15-20 min) is 2,1 E one way...
(you could change the bus with this ticket 1 time and go farer, but still..)

trains are a different thing, since we have a strage discount system (limited number of tickets up to 50% discount if you book a week before, at lest.)
a normal ride with the slowest train (1:25h, direct connection) from bonn to oberhausen (~100 km) without any discount cost you 18 E
(they discuss a minimum sallery in germany now, 7.5 E/h)

Sad to say. But everyone here whines and complains about rising gas prices, yet no one does anything about it. People still drive SUV behemoths, and drive to the store even if its only a few blocks away.  (I'm guilty at that one.)

Anyway, It'll be $3.50 a gallon by summer up here in Jersey, but no one will do anything about it.  We'll just rant and rave and when prices go down a tad bit,  we'll forget the whole thing.

i think that is the 1 ticket for 5 person "nice weekend ticket"
it costs now 33 E..

then there is the germany ticket, 29 E one way any destination-

but then again, both tickets are limited in number, so you need to book in advance to get this price.

a "normal" longer distance ticket is about 10 E / 100 km as a guess.. (bonn-magdeburg (~400 km) and return ~80 E...)

a year discount ticket for 25% is 50 E / year. and you can get 50% discount by ordering before.
->theoretical 62,5 E discount, but only if you buy it early enough, and thats really necessary as the cheap tickes are very limited..

Europe HAS a public trans system...the one here in Cleveland isn't as dangerous as riding the NYC subway, but not much less...

I ordered 4 of 1 agent mini and some marker stones they contacted me within 3 days to let me know they only had 1 of that model and would have to backorder the other 3. Back order would be 2 to 3 weeks. I was in no rush so I had them back order them.
