Assault Mariens - need to shoot in 360° ?

does the gunslinger ability imply to shoot at a closer enemy at their backs because they can?

gunslinger is about to turn around while moving (without models actually turn), not having a real 360° turrent
-> so i think not?

Page 74 A model with the Gunfighter special ability may choose to fire at a model in its rear facing, if that model is within the Gunslingers LD value in inches. Therefore, Gunslinger models have a 360-degree firing arc.   He does'nt have to he can choose to.

i interpretated the "may choose" as "have the ability" and not as "may actually choose something" (like ignoring enemies close)

Remember you only have to target the closest model in your forward firing arc, if he chooses to target a model in his rear arc the other models are now in his rear arc and not priority targets.

?? is this true? can gunslinger change the facing of a fig?

then, if he can spin around, what about CC bonus agains his rear facing?

logically (ha) he should be able to avoid this.. (anyway, is there a rear facing bonus, or just fleeing penalty, canīt remeber..)

He's really no changing his facing, he's changing his firing arc.

I believe, though, that you would still have to make a Tac Sense roll to fire at something in your rear arc if they are not the closest models...

Not with Gunslinger besides AM Sgt does not have Tac-Sense.

I need to actually open it and look at more than army composition.
VeezCon products:  Not as good as if they had been actually produced by a real figure company, but better than using your shoe to proxy with...sort of!

yes, they are the best! (well, perhaps not compared with ALL troops)

esp. the deadshot is their bonus.. makes them almost impossible to attack in CC (with hmg spec or char close)

those things do certainly help, but since I also play Imperial, one of my favorite things to do, depending on the scenario I'm playing, is have a nice CC unit like Wolfbanes or Loughton Rams go into CC backed up by those trusty Trencher lads and have them as shooting support...

I've done the same thing with my CapNav force, but it doesn't always work, since a lot of the time the Free Marines beat up whatever they've charged before the Assault Marines have a chance to get the shots in...

the only thing I don't like about Assault Marines is I hate painting them...
