Centurion Preceptor - Limit 1 per necrorganic squad
« on: March 21, 2007, 06:16:42 PM »
The Legions of Algeroth:
Centurion Preceptor
Individual trooper, limit one per necrorganic squad, necrobiotic
(p. 452)

But Algeroth has no necrorganic squads!!
So?

I would rephrase it to necrobiotic, or delete entirely

You would be wrong. The Neronian Legionnaires are suppose to be Necrorganic, that is why they have Necrorganic Resistance.

Why?

I didnt find any FAQ to it, or any reason why necrobiotic model can't have necrorganic resistance.

Making neronians necrogranic would be a big change I think.

In fact, PFC Joe said in the past (referring to blight commandos and Cairath, that are necrobiotic and have necrorganic resistance):

Quote
They have both the Necrobiotic and Necro-Organic SA and description.  They are not mindless zombies but do possess the squishier of their abilities.

I still believe that they were suppose to be necrorganic.

I seriously doubt it. Because Golem of Darkness is not a Zombie master.

Hello.

Golem of Darkness is supposed to be a support unit, not a control unit. Curatators have zombie master which is why it is a good idea to bring em along.

Still no solution to this problem?

Could a Centurion be played in an only-Algeroth Army? Are Neronian Legionnaires actually necrorganic?

The last time this question was asked, when the creators of UWZ were "really" active on this forum, we learned that "there will be Algeroth necroorganic units in future expansions". So... you have few options:
1) forget about them
2) make some home-rules that allow you to field them
3) create a necroorganic Algeroth unit - there are some nice ideas in the RPG book for Algeroth
4) wait for the expansions ;)

I think a better question is "why are you taking a centurion?".  IIRC centurions really aren't that great to begin with, unless you are just getting him to have your three officers for a force commander.

In which case you need to ask the same question again - he is "individual trooper" and has no Commander SA - so he's not an officer.

;D, but I think that

5) wait for a coherent Faq until expansions come

is still a better option!

However, in some past Italian tournaments some players fielded a Centurion in an Algeroth army, and we had not clear how to deal with it.

Centurions are not great warriors, but for 27 points they give you an additional Unit to deploy. This is strategically useful.

The answer is use house rules allowing him to be used or take a squad of undead legionairres to use him.
