Should'nt mishiman have some sort of infiltrating squad like a ninga type squad.

The Kikigomae do have the stealth special ability.

Also, the Tanjuro Greymen are some sort of infiltrators.

But I do agree with you in the end, I would love to have shinobies with Stalk (6) ;o)

Neither of these 2 squads have inflitrate 1) Kikigomae have stealth-moveunseen at 1/2 mv  2) Tanjuro Greymen have impersonation-assume identy of average trooper in a squad.

No, not really. It'd be really boring if all the forces had the same kinds of units with diffrent names.  Balance doesn't have to come in the form of samness.....that's what went wrong with warzone up until UWZ shipped (from a fluff anf flavor perspective anyway).....the units became less and less unique.

Aa far as a ninja-type squad, I think that the Tanjuro Greymen are the closest thing to the mythical/realistic ninja.

Traditional ninja in legend operated solo and infiltrated the target through disguise and impersonation, much as the Greymen's disguise ability.

I, though, do agree that Mishima as an army based on the Japanese daimyo society need a squad that can infiltrate.  It should definitely be an elite squad, close combat specialist...or at least that's what I think...

Now I have something to think about...

I don't think an infiltrating squad would fit their character that well.  Trying to honourable, such as being trained in Bushido, does not include sneaking up on the enemy.  They seem more like the galant charge across the field type.  Those that would infiltrate, or use stealth, would be the outcasts, such as the Greyman.  The Kikigome use Stealth, however, they don't come from a very honourable house, and so hence why they can act in such a manor.  I know it would seem cool to have an army of ninjas, I don't think it fits with mainstream Mishima warfare.  Just my 2c

I was thinking about this lastnight (I had nothing else better to do...how sad), and I thought that it could be interesting to have a Triad list...something with street gangers as a basic grunt squad adn things like that.

Maybe I'll start working on a Yakuzza list...

more to come I'm sure...

in my opinion mishima and impirial were the best forces in infiltrate to did much damage ( in past ) .... now the only one who has good unseen forces is brotherhood ( crenshaw ) and semai ( soul reavers )... if you go with 1/2 mov and you spot someone with LD range  ( stealth is sh... every simple trooper can spot you with a 50/50 chance ) you canīt get to close enough to hurt someone.... you are always spot before your figure is  in CC.... itīs more usefull to play your figures open instaed go them in stealth ( sorry for this bad english but i hope you know what i mean... )
They are in front of me, beside and behind me....
They canīt escape

Stealth is good.  Yes, you move slower, but you are being stealthy.  Yes, you are going to be spotted if you try running up the center.  However, stealthy models should still be using terrain the cover and block LOS, and somebody with smoke can always help them.  Stealth isn't meant to be some ungodly power that lets you move around the board unseen no matter what.  You just have to use it in relation to the rest of your force, providing a counter-charge or slowing forcing your opponenet to be on the alert on one of the flanks

I agree with LAWWaldo ... stealth is good!

What needs to be realised is that a stealthy unit cards' center represents the units' leader and when the unit is spotted, the models are placed within command distance of this leader. Bear in mind that there are ways to increase the command distance. Also having a stealthy unit effectively denies enemy long-range weapon use against them until they are spotted - this is just a total killer when playing with a totally stealthy force (easily accomplished).

So ... once a unit is spotted, there is a good chance to deploy the models either within charging distance or behind cover ... I've used this succesfully with Imperial models ending up (after deployment) within PB range of an enemy squad with Charger MG etc.

What is still unclear to me is CAN a stealthy individual with approriate commanding ability take a stealthy unit under his control effectively merging two unit cards and making a unit that once revealed will be having superior command distance.
