Credit for the Sculptors?
« on: October 07, 2005, 05:20:02 AM »
Do you think EE should have the sculptor's name by the product in the online store?  Thom was nice enough to post Matt Gubser's name (I hope I just spelled that correctly) when I asked who sculpted the new Dwarf models, so I don't think secrecy is an issue.  I know it would involve more website tinkering, and I'm glad I'm not within a chokehold's reach  from Thom, but I think it would be handy karma to have the credits.  Sure, the artist gets paid to do the sculpt, and then it's the property of EE, but having their name next to it allows them to show their work to others, who in turn check out the games we're playing.

... and most of the really good ones are Kev White. I know Pete Flannery did a number of good ones as well during the later Target era.

I think the LI and HI are his as well for example and the SOK in Chronopia.

I agree with Josh that sculptor credits would be cool. An easy way would be to start with the new sculpts coming out.

..And Roy Eastland sculpted most of the Dwarves, but I think the new sculptors should get some props, yo.  I'm a big fan of Kev White, and almost all of the old sculpts,  (Admittedly, I find a few not stupendous) but we're in a new century, and I think sculptor credits are becoming industry standard.

@Coil who posted before I could click the mouse.  Thanks.  Let's start with the new guys!

Yep, it would be a nice idea to give the credit for the sculptors.
Especially for the good ones!

I agree, Kev White has some very nice figs, if I`m not mistaken he made the Black Sisters and the Blade Maidens..?

I remember he said he was asked by Thom but had to turn down because of lack of time. Yet I hope we see some more of his work in these ranges.

But there are talented new sculptors on their way as the new releases show.  ;D
