Almost got a new player but his wife stepped in
« on: December 24, 2006, 01:12:40 PM »
I have moved to a new city(last year)and after 2 months of talking to a guy about starting to play he(and the family) came over last night to play the game. His kids and mine play together a lot so no big deal. Well we're getting ready to start, the armies were ready just needed to put them on the table. His wife says "can all of us play a card game first?" Well 4 hours later "We have to go and feed the kids" followed by "maybe next time you guys can play that miniature game"

I also heard the phrase "miniatures are okay but dice are much better and more fun"(a RPG player which is fine just I would rather push minis around a table)

Just had to get that off my chest and let everyone else know it could be worse. I have not been able to play a miniature game in over a year. As there are no players in the city I moved to but I almost had one. Maybe next month

Good luck with your games everyone

Arrrgh... sounds incredibly frustrating...

You invite him over to play miniatures, and upon arriving, they reneg on the deal?

What city are you living in?

Welcome to the Midwest. Where in Indiana? There are active cells in Southern Illinois and Northeast Ohio.

Evansville puts you half way between the Boys form Illinois and the Fighting Kentuckians (Spagg, and Roach Co. et al). Ft Wayne puts you about halfway between the Boys form Illinois  and the Ohio Gang in Cleveland. Either way I'm betting we can get some gaming set up in the future.
