MY list for bauhaus.
« on: October 29, 2006, 07:58:42 PM »
Alrighty I put this list together at the laundry mat. It uses what I have now and I hope I read the book right on this so here it goes.

Grunts

First unit.
7 Ducal Militia extra ablative armor
Ducal SGT  extra ablative armor
Ducal HMG specialist  extra ablative armor.

Second unit.
7 Ducal Militia extra ablative armor
Ducal SGT extra ablative armor
Ducal HMG specialist  extra ablative armor.

Third Unit.
6 Ducal Militia extra ablative armor
Ducal SGT extra ablative armor.
Ducal HMG specialist extra ablative armor.

fourth unit.
5 Hussars extra ablative armor
Hussar SGT extra ablative armor
Hussar HMG specialist extra ablative armor

5th unit
5 Hussars extra ablative armor
Hussar SGT extra ablative armor
Hussar HMG specialist extra ablative armor

Support
Strike Skimmer

Strike Skimmer.

The total for the force is 991. I did this by hand between loads so the math may be off. Any way I just had to use the strike skimmers they are too cool looking not to ;D.

I am not a fan of Extra Ablative Armor, unless I have nothing else on which to spend the points.  EAB is only good against bullets and arrows (and you don't see too many arrows in this game) - it does not work against rockets, autocannons, flamers, close combat, etc.

You've spent 38 PC on EAB - that translates to either two more Hussars or Militia - take the models.  The extra 6 AC's of shooting more than makes up for the lack of EAB.  Besides, Bauhaus already has some of the best armor for the points, in the game.

Here is the list that I came up with using your list:

Grunts

1st unit.
7 Ducal Militia
1 Ducal SGT
2 Ducal HMG Spec

2nd unit.
7 Ducal Militia
1 Ducal SGT
2 Ducal HMG Spec

3rd Unit.
7 Ducal Militia
1 Ducal SGT
2 Ducal HMG Spec

4th unit.
4 Hussars
Hussar SGT
Hussar HMG

5th unit
4 Hussars
Hussar SGT
Hussar HMG

Support
2 Strike Skimmers

Total - 993 PC

This gives you more HMG's, and more models, which translates to more wounds.  I like having two skimmers - mobility and firepower, with good AR/WD's.
If sing, sang, and sung, sink, sank, and sunk, and drink, drank, and drunk, how is it that it isn't bring, brang, and brung, think, thank and thunk, and ding, dang, and dung?

Don't even get me started about bad, badder and baddest.  Run, ran AND run...again?  C'mon!

of course slightly off-toppic, but what about the 1support/2units-rule?

I think 2 support in a normal 1000P force is not overly powerful (and not all supp is super strong... and there are hardly enough points to buy 4 units+2 strong supports.)

-> this list looks fine, but a bit monotone..
it is a pretty obviouse army if you want 2 SK in 1000P... taken or given some details..

@SK: nice tank, esp. because ambush! what about the optional troopers? 25 P is a bit expensive, but why not? they increase the shock value of the vehicle at only +16 P compared to ducal grunts..

@ dmcgee -Thanks I can deal with that list. Now all I need is two more HMG specialists.
@ Aldrien. I find you learn the game best with the basic trooper. When I can competently show up to game I will spice the list up.

I have more HMG Specs than I know what to do with - they're yours!

that's the best way to do it...it makes it a minimal investment and you have to learn some good tactics to make up with the deficiencies of the basic troops...

in the end it makes you a better player...

Thats a list of troops that will give you headaches on the field when you face them. I started out with Bauhaus. I thoroughly enjoyed playing them.  After you get the feel for your list, try to get a large squad of Jaegers with HMG Specs and a Jaeger Kapt. It makes for some interesting tactics and can be a GINORMOUS pain in the butt.  ;D

ya know...once you get the basics of that force, you could go with ANY of the Bauhaus special forces...from facing them fairly regularly, I've found that none of them are what I would call lousy...

but Jaegers are a good choice, but hard to find...

Dave I like your list but me personally I would drop 1 Ducal trooper and 2 Ducal HMG's and add the 4 Strike Commando's to the Skimmers. Then give both Hussar squads Ablative Armor for a total of 999 Pts.

I was trying to stay within the confines of Bill's models, he'd have to proxy the Strike Kommandos no matter what, so your force works, too.
