:o snipers in 1000 P....

ok, but that is cheesy... as the fluffbunnys say  ;D

I guess it“s good for a shock... until now, I restrained myself to "ballanced" armys, but even with the wish.. how can you defeat this?

No army is unbeatable it just takes careful stratagy and intelligent use of your troops. A so called Cheez force can be built for each army. I playtested this army and personlly i would'nt use it in a tourney but its fun for a freindly game.

Hmmm...1000 PC, eh?  How's this:
  • 4 Squads of Dragoons
  • Each squad with the following:
    • Sergeant w/ Extra Ablative Armor
    • 7 Troopers w/ Extra Ablative Armor
    • 2 Snipers w/ Extra Ablative Armor

That's a total of 12 Activations (once the Snipers Form Fireteam)

Each Sniper has the following:

Dragoon Sniper
Grunt squad specialist, optional up to 2 per squad, mortal
CC  RC  PW  LD  AC WD  ST  MV  AR  SZ  PC
  8  11   4    11   3   2    4    3   20*  3   35
Equipment:  PSG-99 Sniper Rifle, HG-12 Pistol.
Special Abilities:  Form Fireteam, Sniper, Resolve: 2.
Weapon Stats:
    PSG-99 Sniper Rifle (ballistic)
CC       PB       SR       MR       LR      ER       DM                   SA
    -5       -3       -1          0        1        2        14                    -

    HG-12 Pistol (ballistic)
CC       PB       SR       MR       LR      ER       DM                   SA
     0        1          1         -         -        -         9                     -

* - 21 with Extra Ablative Armor

With aim, these 8 Snipers miss, virtually, nothing.  Then there's 28 other Dragoons (including Sergeants) on the board.  12 Activations, 36 models - yeah, this force could beat it.

I agree - no force is unbeatable, given equal PC and average terrain/environment.

Bill,

Without doubt, the forces described here are nothing more than so much Rochefort.  They are not welcomed in tourneys, and are nothing more than flights of fancy when it comes to, "I dare you to beat this force."  Anyone remember the Vulkan Army of Death?
  • 4 Squads of Ducal Militia
  • Each squad with the following:
    • Sergeant w/ Extra Ablative Armor
    • 4 Toopers w/ Extra Ablative Armor
  • 4 Squads of Vulkans
  • Each squad with the following:
    • Sergeant
    • 3 Toopers

Total:  16 Vulkans at 992 PC (Each turn yielding 96 shots of DM 14 at PB, MR and LR; 144 shots at SR!)

I used this force, once.  I no longer use it unless someone challenges it.  It is fun to see people try.  It is no fun to win a tourney with it.

I've beaten the snot out of an even chessier version of that Mish force.

it wasn't easy, but the archers aren't so great at the closer ranges, so just Infiltrate/stalk right on top of them.

If you want to run a really difficult (but very rewarding) Mish army, run nothing but Bushido Samurai with a few choice Individuals.  With a bit of smoke and a good deal of terrain, it'll cut apart everything in front of it.

As for the Vulkan munster army...

I've beaten something close to it, but it was down to my last unit vs his last Vulkan with only one wound left.

Which Cyber sculpts can't be found?

What problems are you having with Mishima?

I can get you some help with both.  :)

the only problem I have now with Mishima is what to use for proxies for things like Sohei and Hunting Dragons...everything else I'm good with now...

As for Cyber...I found things that I could do for some of the choices (like 19th Silent), but the cost was prohibitive...

Mishima is definitely a finess force.   The overall problem is the forced attempt to put guys with swords in a world full of guns.   Still, with the right mix, and a very dense terrain map, you can do wonders with some Ginsu lovin' !   Dragon Riders in many circumstances can make a board seem a lot smaller with their great move rate.

The first few times that I played with my Mishima I got my hind end kicked quitre badly (it was sad and ugly), but I learned (by force) some good tactics because of it...

I disagree with the need for dense terrain to make them really effective...you just have to support your squads and not let anyone hang in the wind (unless they are Faceless [BOOM])...

And yes, you can make a good shooting Mishima force...

I tend to agree, Sylvas.  We do try to include a lot of terrain, when we play.  But, for the most part, I wouldn't call it "dense."  My skull, however, is a different topic, altogether.

Mishima can be a pretty good army, especially with some Faceless running towards the enemy.

I might have to do the Faceless army at the next big UWZ tourny. :)

As far as least played, I'd have to say the tribes of dark eden get little love, and Mishima is probably the least played of the corps.

Come to think of it, I almost never see a Brotherhood army at all...

As i see it, the only Samurai Army would be fun to play against (when the oponent knows how to play it). Its afterall a Final Charge "fluff" army wich fits the Japanese background.

If a guy with an 8 Sniper army comes to the table i declare him winner and buy him a beer as he really seems in need for a Victory. This is way faster than wasting hours of my live with a game i wont have fun useing my puny fluff lists ;D.

Hmmmm.... the 8 sniper army doesn't seem too bad, depending on the table.  With enough terrain around, you'd be hard pressed to get enough decent targets out.  And really, once you get into LR, anyone with an assault rifle can shoot back. :)

After all, I took out several of Masherkings cartel snipers with some K-9 handlers. :)
