least played.
« on: October 13, 2006, 12:36:11 PM »
Hello. I got to thinking about what forces in warzone are least played. I have yet to foray into warzone so I wanted to see what forces I would see most and others least. From what I have read so far I don;t think I will miss encountering dark legion once I get started. I haven;t really read many lists for mishima so what about them?

Mishima is usually played by one of two types of players - those that really enjoy the flavor of the army (imagine feudal Japan with sci-fi fluff), and those that want a challenge.  Mishima is not easy to play.  The mix of average ranged combat with good close combat makes it frustrating for people who do not know how to take advantage of terrain, nor who support their close combat troops while they maneuver to get into striking distance.

That said, there is a lot to like abot the corporation.  There are many ways to get your troops to where you need them with a grunt para-deploy unit, impersonators that can be sprung from within the enemy's ranks, as well as some cool powers and really cool minis.

If you wish to play (or at least try) Mishima, I will contact my buddy, Marc, to e-mail you.  He plays Mishima, exclusively, and has a lot of fun doing it.
If sing, sang, and sung, sink, sank, and sunk, and drink, drank, and drunk, how is it that it isn't bring, brang, and brung, think, thank and thunk, and ding, dang, and dung?

Don't even get me started about bad, badder and baddest.  Run, ran AND run...again?  C'mon!

Eventually I would like to try all the forces but for now I would like to actually field a decently collected and painted bauhaus. BUUT I will keep those mishima's in mind. Thanks Dave I will let you know when I have a force of bauhaus ready.

I'm primarily a Mishima player now, and I fall into the category of player that likes the techno-feudal flavor of the army, but there are some things about the army that frustrate me (but I'm MUCH better now)...

the army I go against the least up here is Cybertronic...most people that I know were frustrated with the lack of sculpts available so went with forces in which there were more things available...

Which Cyber sculpts can't be found?

What problems are you having with Mishima?

I can get you some help with both.  :)

Well, some of them could be proxied, but I think some of these would have been nice to have:

Reavers
19th Silents
Surveiler

I was really looking forward to
Chasseur Sniper
Chasseur Captain
Chasseur RL Specialist
Cybertronic Doomtroopers..

I know the Surveiler almst made it to the production phase and I was anxsiously holding back my order till the mini comes out - then Excelsior just went down...  :-[
A very sad day it was...

I have conversions plotted out for the reavers and 19th silents but my order for the figs fell through.  I will re-order them and attempt to show them off shortly.

Currently gathering the material for some of these including the Cancer Mounted Machinegun. I'll try to post pix as I go.

How were you planning the cancer?  There was an Urban Mammoth fig or two that would work with a little conversionization that I had been considering.

Veez- that Italian site has 19th silents sculpted.  Or so it says...  Any of our international brothers confirm that?

From what I have read so far I don;t think I will miss encountering dark legion once I get started. I haven;t really read many lists for mishima so what about them?

The armies you will see played least are:

Lutherans
Crescentian
Templars
Demnogonis
Sons of Rasputin
Mu Guy
Mishima

The most popular army by far is Bauhaus.   Something about Germans and war always seems to strike a chord with gamers!   Also, they have one of the most complete figures lines of all corporations.   Imperial, Capitol and Cybertronic are commonly played.

Dark Legion players seem to like Illian and Semai.

Mishima is definitely a finess force.   The overall problem is the forced attempt to put guys with swords in a world full of guns.   Still, with the right mix, and a very dense terrain map, you can do wonders with some Ginsu lovin' !   Dragon Riders in many circumstances can make a board seem a lot smaller with their great move rate.

Hope that Helps,

MadBrad

nice said  ;D

however, I had the impression that the UWZ mishima is more into cheap masses of shooties (ashigaru)+some support-elites
the published figure-range covers that too... ashigaru-boxes, dragonriders+bushido-samurai.. the "normal"samurai-troops all/many have assault-rifles too, I think..
the promised ashigaru supports (walkers&artillery) rounds this up.. cheap/bad commoners CC-elites(nobles) and RC support..

of course you could just use CC, but than again could imperial or cybertronic..

ineffective combos by too much of one type is common.. see my "battle report". the DL only used elites at one part of the bord and got shot up...
just like a tigerdragon squad without an (assault rifle using) meatshild...

of course, with mishima you tend to have a lot of CC, but I feel this army is as flexible as any army. if you can get someone to make you the walkers...  ;)
