Hey could we start planning date for The next Talamania? Also, could we please not have it on Steampunk Worlds faire or Wicked (I do not recall which one is in May). We are hoping to get a table for our game for the Event, but Talamania takes priority.

IF we go with the "typical" weekend in may, the dates would be the 15-17th of may, as it is the weekend between mothers day and memorial day. Thoughts?

Wicked is in Feb, so no worries. Steampunk World Faire is MAY 15th through 17th.
I am also good with planning around Coil's America trip, if he only has the weekend of the 17th to visit, then I would rather see him at Talamania then go to two conventions. Of all the "conventions" I go to Talamania is my hands down favorite, so it gets first vacation request every year.
But if it works out for both, that isn't a bad thing

I am only date hunting so I can get first dibs on whatever weekend we choose. It is a little rough to get vacation dates here, only one person can cover for me.

The time is getting closer, and I have to put down my time off at work if I want to show up (and I do want to show up!).
So, has Coil said anything yet?
Can I count on the weekend between Mother's Day and Memorial Day as a semi-firm date?

Need dates soon or will lose the chance to take vacation in May. Coil, how do you look?
Looking forward to introducing you to our foster daughter, she does game yet, but I think she just needs to find the games that turn her attention.

Sorry have forgotten to check in here. I have been thinking about how to fit in Talamania into my schedule. May 15-17 is another con for me (going there for the 26th time). So in a sort of ranking order.
There is a possibility that I will have a business trip to Boston some time in the week starting with April 19th. I should know if that works out shortly. So April 24-26 might work out quite well for me.
May 1-3 also looks possible at the moment. There is a chance/risk I may be moving to a new apartment around that time though (most likely be June though).

As host for the event, I am partial to no particular date, and want only a couple weeks notice prior to the date.
I want as many to come as can, and want to put no restrictions on any date which will work for all.
That said, please, decide upon a date, and we will make it work. I do not see a need for a poll. I would ask only that we zero-in on a few dates, then pick the one that works best.
I really look forward to the event, no matter when it is!

I do not know for certain whether my family has anything planned for me for my 50th, which would fall on the weekend of April 20, but I would be okay if Talamania was that weekend...then I know that ALL of my friends and family would be there!

CUSTOMS: Are heavily favored versus book ships. That said, if we allow customs, then neither person is at a disadvantage. The main problem with customs is DV; it becomes nearly impossible to hit hit ships with a high DV. I am fine with either way you would like to play.
15mm: Love the scale. I think it allows for a more expanded battle in a manageable space. Don't have any armies or rules for it, yet.

I will be going to Boston on the 20th for business. If we pick the 24-26th I could probably extend my trip a bit and come to Talamania. Would have to go back on the Sunday but getting half a Talamania is better than none.
Does 24-26th of April work for the rest of you? It is not guaranteed for me but I think I have a good chance of making it.
As a plus work would pick up the airfare for me. :)

We have a wedding on that weekend (guys go with Coil and the majority). Could we set it for the weekend of the 17,18? Would that be too rough on Coil and Thom?
Again go with majority, if we miss this we will come down for a make-up weekend right away.

The 17-19 weekend is tougher for me. I would arrive saturday evening but wouldn't have to leave until monday.
The 24-26 is slightly better because I could arrive thursday/friday but would have to leave noonish on Sunday.
Stupid work prevents a full Talamania for me either way. But on the positive side work will pay for the trip.

Go for what is good guys, I will see if I can make the Friday for the night to hang for a bit. FDont change it just for us The long trip for Coil is priority.

We are juggling some possible plans. Make it for the weekend that seemed likely. I may show up for Thursday Night thru Saturday Morning and Ee might go to wedding from Talamania. Linda is checking with how much our daughter Reese will be into trucking around. Dave how old is your daughter again, I think they might get along!

Dave Reese is 15 so she fall in between, she isn't a gamer yet, but she might be interested in learning how to paint minis because she is an artist.

Whatever Nightwatch ships you use, just use their normal setups (and points).
As for customizing, I am fine with that.
Let's discuss finer points of why you should REALLY ensure that your life support systems are thoroughly checked in ALL of your ships eject systems. Which optional rules do you wish to use?

If you did and you payed with Paypal make sure you stay aware of the 45 day limit to file a complaint if you don't get the ships.
I didn't and didn't receive most of a $70-ish dollar order and no refund because of that.
And that was totally my fault. It was also a long time ago and is the reason I set up alarms in my phone's calendar to remind me.
BloodHawks are the awesome, if you do customs could you try out a variant or two that I came up with?? I don't remember their PV, but both are just straight up weapon swaps.

B) Remove Plazgun, install Quad Splattguns, a Meld Laser and 2 Mk 30 Torps.

I havent played with the bloodhawks yet but they look sweet on paper.
i reallly like either version plazgun or the Plexar
both come off as strong interceptors
I'm thinking PLexar gun d10's are too sezy for those high target number fighters

lots of games being played this year ( even got in some warzone :P )
Cthuhlu Wars was a BIG HIT the guys couldnt get enought it.
Played it all weekend long.
played a demo game of warzone resurrection.
from the one game I played, I like it. Its close enough to the old game to make me happy and new bits are neat ( I dig the cards )
UWZ: played a 4 way battle with my dark legion cultist. The necrotransport slaughtered everything :)
Silent Death: I won this years annual grudge match against dave.

Race to the galaxy: fun game.
