Thanks, guys! I tried hard to upgrade those terrible looking elites and paladins and it's good idea to use camo to cover that none of them has any details  :D  Today I finished squad of my Arch primates, so when I'll finish the bases, I'll put them in here...

Now rest of my army:

Archinquisitor Nikodemus

Death Angel

Vestals

Blessed Vestal

Trroper medic (my favorite mini ;))

And last but not least, my trooper specials. Not all of them are finished, sniper and grenadier needs new bases...

I liked elite troopers and paladins, hard to explain but the bold colours mixed into a camo pattern did it for me.

They all look really nice. But I think I like the way you've managed to get the old kinda crappy sculpts look really good the most.

Wow, I'm totally diggin the Death Angel and Assassin.

Nice job...if your dice roll as good as you paint...you will be considered "gamer dangerous".

By the way the base on the trooper medic is creepy in an awesome way, the blood "smears" are very good.

Thanks for all your posts, guys, it means a lot for me! I hope I'm going to finish my sacred warriors and crucifiers soon so I'll be able to start work on less playable figures and some terrain pieces.

Well, about my dice-throwing art.....I'm ordering new packs of dices, last few battles I was throwing only 13+  ;D
The medic is my favorite mini - because he's going to never be played, I took him as a relax paint. His base was an experiment if I could make little illusion of septic atmosphere of field hospital.....And the Death Angel is my most favorite most-weird vehickle I have ever met :D

heresy!

Even the Brotherhood has spurned Bauhaus.  While we kept the Darkness at bay, other corporations looted our homes, while the Cardinal turned a blind eye.

Thx guys, I'm gonna finnish them soon...

Btw., the skirmishes between corporations are manner of Cartel, not Brotherhood - we are watching over DL ;)

Yea, Joshua, I agree. It has that old Mutant Chronicles "slightly vintage, run-down industrial" feel to it. Must be the rivets.

Those spindle converts would be great for an old scenario from 40k where you had to destroy the air circulators for an underground complex. The were set in the 4 corners of the table and you had to destroy 3 of the 4 in a certain number of turns to win. The original scenario was late 90's or real early 00's and was Orks vs Marines

Is that figure near the back a modified Trooper??
Is that supposed to be a sniper rifle or an LMG??

Thanks.
Title: Re: Mortimer's painting projects
Post by: Mortimer on December 07, 2014, 11:13:41 AM
Yep, it is a normal trooper. He was modified with parts from w40k marine scouts and he's representing a sniper. I made him a long ago, but his gun broke down and it's repaired now...

You are a very clean painter.  I really like the way you handle metal.  Gray and not metallic, but you definitely get the feel that they are dangerous weapons.

Thanks! To be honest, I usualy don't paint with silver/metal colours, as it almost always looks weird to me...last sacred warriors are exception...
