So how about a starting army photo just so we can see what your starting from?  I've seen some of your SOK figures from the gallery and I got to tell ya an army of that type of quality work is gonna wow some people.

Come on Josh...join us in our attack on the unpainted pewter pile.  Grab a brush, some paints, and start Josh's painting log.  Speaking of kicking a little Chronopia painting action in gear, how about grabbing Morfdoggs and Wrathaven and bringing em along too.

*Looks for luckyone*

Ah yes, maybe talk you into doing a little painting log or maybe even "Luckyone's Terrain Log"...it would be a shame to hide that kinda of talent.

Remember, all it takes is a spark...

You know you want to; it wont' hurt anyone.  The painted figs are your friend; they never judge you or make fun of you!

As my army exists today...I included my WIP FOG fortified camp for my Late Roman Army as it will be a decent terrain piece as well.  Just needs static grass.

Hey, looking good.

I was hoping for but not expecting pictures, the scenery is such a nice touch, makes me feel like working on a Stygian Pyramid to use a scenery, the only thing stopping me is the idea of painting it.

Man, there is nothing like an army pic to get your painting blood pumping...well, maybe battle reports with pics.  Very nice Dave K, I like the log/spike wall.  It's very SOK ish and later on I might give that a try.  Models look great as expected and I look forward to seeing you add to it.

The standards are top notch. 8)

Really looking forward to seeing what else you have planned.

Thanks guys.  The other four warriors are mostly done and the berzerkers should be easy as pie as they are mostly nekkid.

Slightly off topic but I just finished my Minotaur.  I may even post a picture of him.  I'm working on a small scale set of skirmish rules with minimal figs.  Clash of Legends (tm).

Here's my Minotaur.  He was much quicker to paint than I expected.  I hopes y'all like him.

I like it. Nice detail on the sandals and belt buckle.

How long did it take you to paint it?

Who makes that model/game system?

I know others may disagree with me but in my opinion that Minotaur looks better than some others that have recently been produced.  To me that is just the right amount of muscles...the sculpt needs more fur though.  And c'mon, wheres the nose ring? :P      ;D

Job's a good'un.

This is a reaper fig, I am going to use for my Beer N Pretzels game I am working on.  He obvious goes with the Greek battle group/faction/army (known as Helenes in mah rules)  I have a few other reaper figs for the Helenes.  I am currently customizing/converting a model for use as Medusa.  I am being inspired by the new Clash of the Titans.

It took about an hour and a half total to paint.  I painted him dark brown/ then red/ then dark brown again/ dry brushed lighter brown/ then brown inked.  I dry brushed the metallic buckle and hit the metal tabs individually.

I did a bit of searching for the "right" Minotaur and thought he fit the bill for me.

Well c'mon my good man...show us some Quar.( I have no idea what a "Quar" looks like, but now you got me curious.) ;D

How are the Berserkers coming along?  I'm really looking forward to seeing your SOK army expand as it motivates me to sling the ol' paintbrush around.

As soon as I finish the Quar I will take an army picture of them all.  I just need to touch up their base uniform color and ink wash them, matt coat and base grass.

The Quar are awesome, they look like Vaughn Bode designs, they're made by "Zombiesmith" miniatures:

I haven't picked up the Quar rulebook yet, but it's on my "must buy eventually" list.

That is so cool ...I don't know what to say really.  Nice painting, good choice of army color, and now I feel that slight tingle of wanting to spend wads of cash getting into some "Quar Wars".  Must fight...new ...awesome...shiny stuff...

Just finished 4 more warriors, I just need to ink wash them and finish coat them tomorrow. I'm not sure if they are old or new,   I didn't play chronopia back in the day.  4 Blade maidens are almost finished with 4 more follwing right behind.  I will throw up some pics on Friday.  I should have the maidens done this week end or so.

Here are the warriors as promised.

These are my Blade Maidens with their Frost Blades ready for attack.  I will be basing them on lipped bases once I order a crap ton of them.  I will also add snow to the base mixed with grass.  I really need static grass.

Thanks luckyone.  Only 10 SOK models left to go.

I really really need a horned ones blood totem!!!

I have been looking around at the dwarves and think I will go with Mostly Reaper figs if I do the dwarves.

I know the size would pale in comparison but wasn't there a figure for Orcus? maybe Ral partha? Thinking that would make a proxy with a few modifications.

Jase, thanks for the suggestion but this is one model I wont use a proxy on.  The old Orcus is still a POS for a model too.

Well... hello ladies... 8)

They look great Dave, I think the snow on the bases will add a lot to them when you get them based.  Seems like you have been on the go with this army.  How does it feel to have em painted?  Kudos my good man!

Thanks VK.  It is a pretty good feeling to actually finish an entire army.  I liked the SOKs as they seem to have the right amount of detail.  I just wish they had made the Blade maidens slightly larger but they work as is.  I wanna do a dwarf army now and I think I will go with Reaper and a few other companies to do the main units.  I so need a horned ones blood totem.

From what I can tell the skin work looks good too.  Keep up the great work!

Update:  I will be going to my FLGS for some 30mm lipped bases so I can rebase my painted ones.  I have seen an interesting pair of white sand at Michaels and plan on getting some to experiment with them to add snow bases to my Blade Maidens.
