Cool, but aren't the Iron Mastiffs supposed to look like Mastiffs....fur and all?
-
So I'll say they're Iron dobermans for now. :)

Woof. I've no idea what the art is supposed to look like, but those proxies would look cool on any table I play on. Good find.
-
I've seen others use the K-9 Troops from StarShip Troopers . the dogs from 40k, and just about any other dog fig they could find.
-

Gah. I just had a visual of Little Pet Shop dogs with their big eyes advancing on their enemies. Creepy.

The Iron Mastiffs and handler are at the nine o'clock position of the picture, below:

Couple of Necromunda Enforcer Iron Mastiffs on Ebay - but current bid (as of last night) was approx 6 bucks each.

The little shapes in their eyes tell you what kind of attacks they have!

Also D&D minis...I present the Nessian Warhound!
I know, I know. The fig doesn't scream 'mastiff ', but hey, it looks feral and ****ed (in the American sense of the word, for all you across the pond)!

I like these from Reaper:

That last one is perfect!
-
How about the Sons of Kronos warhounds?
Jase
-
The War Dog (http://www.privateerpress.com/WARMACHINE/gallery/default.php?level=picture&id=447) from Warmachine could be a nice proxy as well.
-
Wargs from GW could be good ones. Just take of riders and go!

If my opinion ruled the world (yes, I think it should, why?), those would be perfect!
-
I think that D&D nessian warhound is a Large figure.
But I'm not positive on that.
-
I thing that best proxy to ISC mastiff are "neo dog" from starship troppers. Sory I don't hav any photo
-
True true, those from starship troopers looks ok for iron mastives. Here's a photo:
But I'm going to order from ralpartha:
And convert them a little. maybe they are not mastiffs but I find them great in my army. And they are quite cheap.
Next idea is:
Warhound from Custom Made Minis (http://www.custommademinis.com) but its quite exensive (3.60 € for one)
-
Yeah I have a few of the SST dogs....actually a few more than I need. ;) ;D
-
I think using the starship trooper ones above woulg be easier (bases the same) but the one you plan on using looks better IMHO.
-
Ok let see. We got the picture off Iron Mastif and some info in book about Imperial from RPG.
Any other idea?
-
Pictures in the book do not always equal descriptions/back stories. I think any of the above will work. Depends upon what you nac get and how much converting you want to do.

Hear the image

Hi!
Have you seen the Vendel Miniatures Mastiffs? they work out at £1 each and come in quite nice poses...
http://vendelminiatures.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=3&products_id=187
-
They look nice, but for us poor cheapskates in the US it's 1 pound sterling for the figure and twenty for shipping!
-
Those would work nicely also. Thanks for sharing.

Having raised old english mastiffs in real life. ( I had up to 15 at one time, all national and international champions) these are defintely the closest for Old English mastiff.
What is pictured in MC is closer to either a Neapolitan mastiff (with cropped ears) or a rare Bandog mastiff
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Mastiff_Type_Breeds (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Mastiff_Type_Breeds) pics of neapolitan and others
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bandog (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bandog) A bandog
As for the scale they are in the 28mm section.
Think illl be trading in some of the SST figs ive been using for those.

I like the dog. If you take a closer look you can see the dog is a machine or at least technical enhanced.
This dog looks just like I imagined the Iron Mastiffs.
