Title: The Chemiman Can???
Post by: warzoneD on February 16, 2009, 06:21:49 PM
Okay folks, friends and foes of Cybertronic, what are your thoughts on the Chemiman?  Is he worth it? What's the best and worst about him?  How have you seen him used that you liked?

compared to the other supports he is somewhat underpowered.

his damage potential (w/o gas) is just 3 W.... and i doubt he will really hurt.
(up to now im my uses he did not..)

he may be cheaper than the other supports, but since you need TWO grunt squads to just habe one, i would rate him second choise.

at 56 P he is actually OK, i think, but as a support = no
(perhaps if he would learn how to snipe instead of macfit... ST10  ???)

oh, i like MV 4 and he has jump+climb, right?

Hmmmm....

Never used him.  Wish I had a few for "The Machine" (as he is an AI) as support options.

In looking him over, he is a fairly tough support element to take.  @ 56 points, cheap long range fire support (with the SR) and fairly effective close in pain with the D332 but he has to be in among his enemy to do it (IE: center of attention)  and being an Environmental Attack, just mean.

I know I'd be using them to provide over fire for my Machinators.  In 800 points, I can run four 6-man Mk1 units and two of them.  If I trim my troops to 5 man elements, I can field a Vince and an OpOver with munitions.

All A.I pain... :)
