Title: new figs.... good stuff for Hood and other
Post by: Archer on January 06, 2009, 10:20:45 AM

The Project Slipstream figs look damn good... and the Valkyur's make great Valkyries.

If I had the coin, I'd by 'em.  Right now the owner is feeling out the waters on the their demand  (dakka article: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/226239.page )

I say order them...  Nice figs really!!

I like the humans, the battlesuit mech things are not my cup of tea, perhaps good pulp figures, but not really that interesting to me.

Excellent promo offer- I may get them, and see what other "deals" he may make.  The Valkyrie make obvious proxies.

I know the guy...he probably lives 15 minutes from me!  He's a nice cat that makes absolutely beautiful terrain.  I see him twice a year at Recruits convention (shameless plug), as he hosts the WarMachine tourney and offers terrain and minis for Flames of War.  Free shipping in the USA.  Not too shabby!  I think international shipping is only $5.

Sounds like a guy we ought to support with some orders and yet another good reason to descend on Recruits and visit Petru5

I'd love to buy some figs if I could afford it.  hopefully I can manage to get out that way once Recruits rolls around.

Recruits is in Eastern Kansas City, which is only about 4 hrs west on I-70 from St. Louis.  www.recruits-con.com (http://www.recruits-con.com)

Ya know, some Chronopia and WarZone action would be great!  My stuff isn't ready to go (unpainted, still on sprues, etc) and I doubt I can paint up enough stuff in time for a con as my OCD doesn't allow me to mass paint very quickly.  If someone wanted to bring their goodies, I know I can provide terrain.

Also, if you play Flames of War, you'll want to attend.  The regional qualifier for whatever tourney system FoW uses is held at Recruits.  WarMachine is very popular, too.

One of my absolute favorite things about Recruits, aside the fact that it's practically in my back yard, is that it isn't locked into one genre.  Fantasy, sci-fi, ancients, modern, horror...you name it, you can play it!  Last Recruits I ran a Roman gladiator game in the morning (http://www.mtswebsites.com/recruits/gallery/Fall08/F08.php?action=showfull&filename=DSCF0413.JPG (http://www.mtswebsites.com/recruits/gallery/Fall08/F08.php?action=showfull&filename=DSCF0413.JPG)...that's me in the Rams hat, telling the rules to my players) and played Pulp City, a superhero game, in the early afternoon.  This Recruits I'm thinking of running a Formula 1 racing game, perhaps some pulp GASLIGHT and something else...

Oh my, I just went tangential.  Sorry, folks!

Yeah well.... I figure they would work for ya.  Not expensive really, and Valks are just cool.  They can double for Vestals too.

Hi everybody,

Sorry if this is not the right topic, but I can't found a post where there was a list of proxies for Warzone. I have just found a very good one for the Tekron Warmaster from Wyrd miniatures:

I someone can add this to the list, it would be helpful for other people  ;)

Cheers

He/it defintely looks swank with that incredible paint job!  At 32mm, I wonder if he's almost too large.  He'd be the size of a battlesuit, if not larger considering his pose.  Still, he's $15 on the Wyrd website.

Here are some other things of interest from their site:
Zombie Samurai  (http://www.wyrd-games.net/shop/product.php?productid=16170&cat=255&page=1 (http://www.wyrd-games.net/shop/product.php?productid=16170&cat=255&page=1))
Steampunk Arachnid Swarm (http://www.wyrd-games.net/shop/product.php?productid=16144&cat=255&page=1 (http://www.wyrd-games.net/shop/product.php?productid=16144&cat=255&page=1))
Golem - Arcanist Construct  (http://www.wyrd-games.net/shop/product.php?productid=16189&cat=255&page=1 (http://www.wyrd-games.net/shop/product.php?productid=16189&cat=255&page=1))
Sabertooth Cerberus  (http://www.wyrd-games.net/shop/product.php?productid=16174&cat=255&page=1 (http://www.wyrd-games.net/shop/product.php?productid=16174&cat=255&page=1))
Baby Kade (http://www.wyrd-games.net/shop/product.php?productid=16138&cat=255&page=2 (http://www.wyrd-games.net/shop/product.php?productid=16138&cat=255&page=2))
Lilith's Brood (http://www.wyrd-games.net/shop/product.php?productid=16191&cat=255&page=2 (http://www.wyrd-games.net/shop/product.php?productid=16191&cat=255&page=2))
Silurid Slaves (http://www.wyrd-games.net/shop/product.php?productid=16217&cat=255&page=2 (http://www.wyrd-games.net/shop/product.php?productid=16217&cat=255&page=2))
Mire Golem (http://www.wyrd-games.net/shop/product.php?productid=16224&cat=255&page=2 (http://www.wyrd-games.net/shop/product.php?productid=16224&cat=255&page=2))
Killjoy (http://www.wyrd-games.net/shop/product.php?productid=16139&cat=255&page=2 (http://www.wyrd-games.net/shop/product.php?productid=16139&cat=255&page=2))

With a lot of these, I see DL proxies as well as use for other games.  I tried to pick figs that won't suffer from 32mm being too large in comparison to WZ figs, but a few cool ones still crept through.  Also, if you took them off their incredibly neat but not very functional bases, they wouldn't look as large.

One of my favorite model manufacturers, and Thom likes their stuff too.
