Figured might as well have a terrain thread. Here are some ruins I made using the Hirst Arts Ruined Tower mold.
These are designed to be playable more than purty.

That one shot has me convinced your Elves should have the Hide Special Ability!!
-
Lawl, yeah, they kinda blend in there a bit, maybe I should have shot it with the Crystal Knight, he'd stick out like a sore thumb on any battlefield. Unless you know of some orange landscapes?
EDIT: I have a lot of spare stair pieces from my Fieldstone molds, and started doing a piece with them, but not sure where to take it, so here is a start, where should I go from here?

You could build it into the side of a hill, perhaps as a cave or tunnel opening.
-
I already assumed it would be up the side of a hill. However, I do happen to have one of these laying around.

Perhaps that'd work well at the top, then bury it partially into a cliff face?
-
Your stuff would make a cool tomb entrance, an altar, or throne as well.
-
Well I think continuing your ruins theme would rock if those bits had lots of overgrown vegetation on them, jungle or otherwise. Vines, moss, etc.
As for the Elf jest, that was just jealousy Glenn, as you've always made me envious of your skills.
Your terrain work has given me something else to envy too, come to think on it. ::)

Thanks for the Concept Veez, the "Mountain" is a bit small for storage reasons.

Anyways, I always try to keep my stuff a bit mild because I have limited storage and it helps me use it all for multiple settings.
-
Looks very good Glenn. I'm looking forward to my vacation, hopefully I'll get some Hirst stuff done then.
-
I love my molds, they are great. They make building nice detailed stuff so much easier than if I were to do it by hand. Though they aren't perfect and you can't use them for everything.

Here are some Stygian Pieces.

Looking at the Mountain again I must say that I am impressed by how nicely you've worked the ram into the cliff face. It all looks very natural.
-
I just ran a thick bead of glue around it and used crumbled cork and sand. When doing rubble, I find it crumbled cork makes very convincing stone, then I use sand to fill in the extra glue area, makes it look pummeled, which is the same effect I did here. The other thing is where I mess up, I just stick flocking there :D No one ever notices.

Really great looking terrain. Ust got in a couple of hours of painting in today. felt good gettting back to it. Got so much painting and terrain to do. I've just decided to get in a least 3 hours of work a week in. Its not much, but will get me started and get some things done.
-
Very nice Glenn! You are definately selling me on the mold concept. Right now I am using a borrowed idea from Dave M - he gave me some indestructable terrain (foam). You can literally throw it at someone, run over it, spill soda on it and it comes back for more. All of the above has happened to it. Not a mark on it yet. They are even painted and flocked/static grass. I have never repainted them or touched them up after they were initially done and they look brand new.
-
Always a pleasure to look at your stuff! Maybe instead of a mountain it could be a hill, that way it's only a hump, not an entire cliff face.
-
I'd call it both playable and pretty.
Nice work, the Ramskull gate coming out of the mountain is my favorite.
-
I appreciate the comments guys, just makes me want to work harder. Here is a little treat, nothing big, but still, makes you think of what's to come :D

Looks like a great objective for a scenario.
-
That would be a cool objective. THat Orc Greatswordman sure is getting alot of "face" time. :D Is he your "super model" ? ;D
Just kidding. I figured you mostly use the same one because its a) sitting around, b) makes sense to use the same model for ease of comparison.
I really am digging all the terrain you have been pumping out.
-
Wow, no one recognize that particular item. Apparently we are lacking Stargate fans.

Mmm, Stargate . . . . . .
-
Neat. Looks really nice.
-
Yep, not a Stargate fan.
But that Aegyptus fig looks great! And excellent work on the dimensional gateway thingy.
-
Great terrain pieces Glenn. I need to get back to finishing my cybercity one of these days! I highly recom the Hirst molds. They're really great.
D
-
Just for you Alex

Very cool!!
-
Awww... thanks! He does look very nice. Ya'll probably know that I'm a big Aegyptus guy.

Really, with that Avatar I'd have never guessed.
Some day I plan to finish my Egyptian Heroquest game . . . someday.

I just thought he liked the Atlanta Falcons :D
