Post painted pics of your SoK forces here. Use a direct link from photobucket or whatever place you store your pics. If one day we get a new gallery, we can organize all the pictures accordingly.

Here is a picture of a Son's of Kronos Wyrd that I sculpted years ago.

Well done for a self-sculpt!
-
Might try some more some time.
-
I've done some minor work, but have not yet worked up the courage to do a whole figure myself. Part of the problem is that I've been using Milliput-which is good for rough shapes and filler but does not hold detail well. I need to get my hands on some green stuff.
-
Hello
Tell you what, sculpt some golems of darkness and I will send you some green stuff for it.
wmeredith.
-
Green stuff is good to work with but takes time to get used to.Quite a few different mediums to use and they all have things they are good for.

Hi!
Heres a few pics of my Sons of Kronos miniatures (they are brilliant sculpts and paint up really nicely!)

Hearthguard

Viridian Lord
(http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm19/leutenantbrittan/SSL20267.jpg)
Random Hero (Hes the Harbinger of the North from Harbinger magazine anf stands about 40mm tall making him truely heroic looking!)
-
Really like them! Viridian looks great. Green works well with the figure.
-
I second that! These figs look great, especially the Viridian Lord. I am definately gonna try to reproduce that look.
leutenantbrittan you seem to be pretty good with a brush, kudos to you my good man. 8)
-
That Viridian Lord is just about *perfect*. Great work!
-
Hi!
It was actually a bit of an accident as he went worryingly blue for a while and Im not even sure I could reproduce the effect if I tried!
The viridian lords are cracking miniatures and I really need to finish painting them up (the champion is especially good!)
-
I think most of the SOK are Kev White sculpts. Regardless, they're brilliant and the painting brings that out!!
-
The first son's of Kronos sculpts were by Alex Hunter.Kev did the re-sculpts if I remember correctly.A big improvment on the others.

Ditto; straight out of some 70's fantasy art poster!
-
Here's my first few SOK foot soldiers. More are being assembled for processing.

How do they look?
-
They look great. Thanks for posting here.
-
One of them is converted as well.

The paint jobs look too good for the models to not be based ;)
Excellent work as always Mr. Kufner.
...God ...I love boobies.... :)

Lol I think everyone loves boobies.
Thanks for the kind words VK. I am hoping to bring a fully painted SOK army to Talamania IV.
I didn't base the standard and spearman because I need to order a bunch of the 30mm lipped bases, the ones they are on are painting bases.
I hate how the camera flash washes the colors out but they would be grey shadows with out it.

I'm far from a picture-taking expert, but I've had good results turning off the flash, and pointing two desk lamps at the minis from two different directions. All my pics of finished minis on this forum were taken this way.

Just finished last night. Aonbarr Horse warrior.
Tribal warriors, Wyrd, Hunter, Standard are on the painting table. Trying to glue another standard together.

More SOK finished for your perusal.

That's a darn fine looking bunch!
-
Awesome figs, just awesome!
-
That's some good painting there. What made you decide to use green as your main clothing color? I like it. The figure to the right of the standard bearer looks like he needs a little touch up on his fingers on his right hand, but other than that ...two thumbs up. Your painting reminds me of some type of "sketch type" art work that you would see in an artist's concept art for a figure line...and that my friend...makes me jealous. :)
Great work!

Thanks VK, the evil camera flash reveals all. Since I paint away from the actual light source I may miss a few things like that. I will touch that up and his vambraces as well. Not sure why exactly I did it but My Hordes figures have the same color scheme so they work together well ;D I tend to like earthy tones and green cloth & brown fur are natural combos. I do plan on purchasing some water slide decals of celtish tattoos and plan on adding them to the figures at a later date to give a more "wild" look to them.
Veez & Luckyone glad you like them. More to come soon but I'm also getting ready for Dragon Con.

Applaud button in effect.

@ dave kufner:
I liked your SOK so much I had to get a few of mine primed and ready to paint. The painting you did on them was great and I had to find a technique to come close to that "art work" or "comic" feel and after searching a while on the net I found that "Grey-scaling" is pretty darn close and after giving it a try it was an easy and fast job. I highly recommend it and if nothing else...it's an interesting take on painting minis.
I'll post some pics when finished in my project log (then here when the army is complete).
By the way...Congrats!!! on the chariot building contest win. :)
-
VK,
it's good to know one can inspire others to paint. After finishing the Banshees, which made me set aside some SOK wip figs, I also finished a hasslefree shaolin guy and just finished assembling & painting an adobe cantina for my wild west town. I have three mostly done on the work bench and another four in the painting que.
Thanks about the win, I guess it helps when your the only entry :). I wanna do a Capitol chariot for Talamania IV
Looking forward to seeing you stuff.

Updating the SOK with more models I have finished. Almost done with my SOK army :)

Viridian Lord
Astonishingly I just checked and I originally posted some pics of them up here over three years ago and its taken me till now to finish them and get them properly based!
All the best!
-
Nice looking Tribals. Good job
-
@ leutenantbrittan:
The one on the right can be a great proxy for the tribal champion. I like it a lot and think I can make a good hero for a scenario. Do you know where to find it? The one on the left is a good mini, but the style is more apache than celtic. At least in my opinion.

That barbarian with the two swords is from Andy "manic_miner" Coleman's range:
