Played last night - a disagreement arose--
RE: Smoke Grenades - These are listed as indirect fire weapons.
According to 9.3.2 Deviation - If the hit roll is failed the difference between the number rolled is subtracted from the DAM - with smoke I assume this means the smoke level. So if the smoke grenade roll to hit misses and deviates it is simply removed from play?
It's not like 2nd Ed where the template deviates to another spot.
Anyone?

yes, i think that is right.
smoke level gets less..
no scource, but i think itīs in the faq! check them (2) out!!

from the faq:
Page 143-145: Smoke Munitions and Deviation
Q: Do smoke munitions like Smoke Grenades, Apex A12 Grenades from under barrel grenade
launchers, or Smoke Canisters from mortars deviate?
A: The answer is yes, but only to a slight degree. Smoke rounds that deviate farther than their smoke
level in inches are considered ineffective, and should be removed from play.
now it seems that the lvl is not reduced, but it can only derivate inches = lvl.
==> ??

Ok - That's how we played it.
So a smoke Grendade that misses by more than 1 is basically null (since only lvl 2 smoke).
Thnx

It can deviate 2 inches and is still level 2.

Phil is right. Smoke will deviate, but only up to its level in inches. If it deviates farther (missed the roll by more than it's level it is considered too dispersed to be effective.
