Conversion time  - Possible starting points are the Legions of Steel Dreadbot or Necron Destroyer

I just might know a guy who is making one from a Deadbot, who just might be convinced to post pix and a tutorial and who might just know where to get his hands on a plethora of the Dreadbots.  8)

I would be interested in a dreadbot (I can't find any on the web), failing that, I was planning on using a spiderbot from Robogear similar to a certain Cdr's that's been posted here.

I haven't inventoried them lately but I know I have about 30 of them.

Dreadbot sounds cool - I'd be interested in 1 too.

Check the following link to see a pic of the Dreadbot. It is mistakenly labelled as a Scorpion and is in the Machine section. I have approximately 20 of them and am selling them on consignment for $ 20.00 ea. They originally retailed for $ 29.95 but I can't get the guy to come down more right now. If they don't sell I may be allowed to lower the price but it isn't my call.

To make a Cancer MMG use the legs and body and set aside the carapace and head. You will have to trim the tail off. Then add an appropriate body and MMG's. Maiking one is on my list so I will try to start it soon and include pix as I go.

Top They have one on the page listed as a dreadbot. Is the one you are talking about the scorpion or the dreadbot?

The pictures are reversed. The fig listed as the H1 Scorpion is actually the Dreadbot. It is just below the pic of the S1 Archfiend Colossus.

Ok Thanks. Get movin on that conversion. If it looks easy enough I might actually try to convert something  ;D

I have some sub teaching gigs this week - Wed and Thurs for sure so I don't expect to get started this week but I will try to round up my materials and try to start ASAP.

The one I'm planning is a bit smaller than TK's, but similar in design.

I'm planning on using a GW Necron Tomb Spyder for most of the work. (Blasphemy I know but desparate times call for desparate measures)

The carapace, legs, and claws are exactly what I envisioned on the Cancer MMG. My conversion plan is fairly simple:

1. Stretch the legs out so that the piece will stand on the legs instead of on the flying base it came with.

2. Assemble the Tomb Spyder, minus the head bit that comes with it.

3. Dremel out a small opening in the top of the carapce for the torso. (Thinking of using either a PV torso, Chasseur, or maybe even Big Bob Watts upper torso, as he comes sans arms.

4. Affix the torso into the opening, green putty where necessary, and find a pair of suitable weapons for the MMG's.

5. The claws already have spots under the carapace, so no conversion needed there.

Presto. Cancer MMG with only a minimum of conversion work.

Thats my plan, at least.

Looking further at it. Looks like I will be using Big Bob for the torso, although a head swap is not out of the question.

Big Bob is the perfect torso - he looks like he has a computer in his chest  ;)

His weapons would work for the MMG's as well in a pinch and a Space marine head with targeter eye (looks like a borg head) is my choice for the head. When we get them finished what say we post side by side pics and let people decide who has the best Cancer MMG conversion fu in Southern Illinois?

Sounds good big bro. I have the body assembled, but not dremeled yet?

Do we have any Big Bobs in the Sanctum stock?

I'm showing one in the singles. Want me to pull it and bring it next time I am down your way?

P.S.

Not sure how this thread got started in the Chronopia section. Could one of the admins please move this to the Warzone section please?

Damn I'm getting old - it took two pages and someone else to spot this. Will do and have some karma for catching it.
