Title: Painted Forgotten
Post by: joshuaslater on December 31, 2007, 07:52:30 AM
These were painted by my friend, Pete Ceretti, and I'm posting them because it seems images of them at all are rare enough.  The pics ain't great, but enjoy.

Nice miniatures Joshua.I also like the Grimdalf conversion you have in the folder. Is that a Helldorado miniature with a Heresy Ogre head?

Yup.  'Having a time painting'em up, as I'm going slow, and really trying to make it better than my typical quick and dirty tabletop painting.     The actual head that the Demon comes with is as cartoonishly small, as the Ogre's is cartoonishly big!!

At least you are painting something. All I seem to do is buy and convert.I need to get my eye's tested as I get a bad head every time I try to paint these days.
Do you have a full unit of the Forgotten?

I think I've got 13 of'em.  I love having them on the board.  Vorpal swords and Killing Stroke!!  I did like the direction the sculpts were headed, but I'll readily admit, there's no way I could have painted them up that well myself.  Now, however, I think I could copy the paint scheme with one starin' me in the face done already.

I'm going to have a moritorium on buying, with the exception of helping Francesco out here and there, for 2008.  I'm like you, buy, assemble, convert, prime, done!!

This year's resolution is to finish painting more models than I buy.  Period.

If it was only that easy to do  ;D.
I am looking forward to more Wargods,Spinespur,Hordes,Warmachine,Hasslefree,Heresy,Hell Dorado and many others that elude me at the moment.
What I will try is to get more than Ten miniatures painted in 2008.I have some miniatures away getting painted for me by a very talented painter/sculptor.I'am hoping to get him to sculpt a few pieces for me.

No shame in having an awesome painter go at your models for pay or trade.  That's how I got these Devout painted.  I'll have a crack at matching his style on some undead I have, but this year, 2008, I'm only going to get a few models from Francesco, and anything else is prepainted plastic, metal, or terrain.

I've got my eye on some Zuzzy terrain mats for Talamania II.

Thanks for the pics Josh.  The Forgoten look bad as hell.  Need to find a better proxy fir them myself.  Riight now I'm just using 4 swor follower leaders with lime green swords.  Really need to do something about that.  Like you guys, I swear I well get more painting done in 2008, besides the walls int eh basement. ;D

I still kick myself for not buying any forgotten when they first came out.

Now I see why you converted the Grimdalf.  Looks great.  Good use of that figure also.

Thanks Seamus.  I suffer from the same malady that Andy (manic_miner) does: 'Can't leave the model as is.  Must convert.  Must convert.  Resistance is futile.

Oh, God, that sounds like my entire collection...

Ugh...

I actually really dislike those Forgotten figures, they just don't click for me with the look of the rest of the Devout line, although I was able to order a bunch (20 or so, I think...?) of their shields from EE before they went under.

The obsessive collector in me, however, would really like to obtain at least four of them, just for completeness' sake.

It's funny Alex; those Forgotten were either love'em or hate'em.  I'm a Hellraiser fan, so I loved the look and feel of them, and since I traded out models to get my Devout painted, they all matched up perfectly.  Admittedly, I could not have painted them at the time as well as they are now.  Thom was joking about shivving me and taking my Devout as they turned out so nicely!!

If I remember they were sculpted by Matt Beauchamp, but I'm not the best at remembering.

Same here.  Dig the minis, but I always took it for granted that they will always be available.  :'(
