I have tried to search for this site on those occassions where I have found myslef at a different PC. I can never remember the address, and find it difficult to find via a simple search. I consider myself pretty net-savvy, but I am wondering if we could be attracting more people by making the site easier to find on the web, somehow.
Suggestions? Comments? Jeers and general statements on my net skills or lack thereof?

Learned this when I was having to stay in hotels on business trips. Go to Google and search for Excelsior Entertainment Forum. The forum addy should be in one of the first few hits that come up.
-
yeah, that is true..
normally, i google: "chronopia"
this is a direct hit on chronopia deutschland (coki)
there is a link to this forum.. ;) ;)

OK yes. We can all scrounge around until we find it because we know what we are looking for. But, I agree with McGee (Don't get used to it ;)) Random people looking for MC or Chrono sites are not finding us.
I'm told we have attracted a few new memebers over my last hiatus. Perhaps they can chime in on this and tell us how they found us.

I always google Talaminatures myself. Maybe we need a forum name that stands out from all the net 'static' out there. Also promotion to the other search engines out there probably wouldn't hurt, but it might induce a new wave of spammers.
Just some thoughts.

I oringinally found this site by spending copious amounts of time going from pg to pg on ggogle. Now I go to chronopia world (thanks to Coki) if I'm at another PC. It would be nice to find a way to "advertise" Chronopia and Warzone. I have thought about puting a link the next time I sell some Chronopia stuff on ebay. I didn't know how that would go over with the community, so I haven't done it yet.
-
It's never bad to attract fans to the forum. I would think that if someone is buying models on Ebay, unless they are a store, then they should be a fan. I would say go for it.

With three new Admins, spammers should be a lot less frequent. Keep up the good work guys.

I din't know the place existed until someone told me on TMP.
It feels a bit secret... you know, when you google your way here (if you succed), you get to the login page, and that page doesn't reveal much about what's inside here. Quite closed to outsiders. Cousy once you're in, but not a good way to attract more people.

yes, thats right!
btw. on wiki there is a direct link to here, so...

Thanks for sharing your story brynolf. That's what I thought, we don't have the light on for all the ships that are lost at sea!

I tell anyone who mentions Warzone on TMP or any other web page I go to. I will add it to my TMP profile page but I don't know any other way to get the word out than mention the site whenever or where-ever the games is mentioned as we travel the internet highway. I guess we could all add it to our ebay profile pages but I'm not sure how many people look at those anyway.

Excellent suggestions, Top. Karma to you, sir.

Added our addy to my TMP Proile page and my signature at Armorcast.com
We'll see if it helps any

I think thee are a few people out there googling for "warzone forums" and stuff like that. I know I have... The login page should have a logo and a little information, so you know what this site is all about. And why not let guests view the forums too?
-
before it was like this.
for reasons unknown (to me) it changed some month ago..
but a black (grey..), unmarked forum to discuss a dead (sorry ;) :)) game _is_ cool

Hehe, true... but do we really want it to be dead? More members equals less "deadness", that's what my mathematical sense tells me. =)

It is hard to find for sure, I found it linked off of the Wiki page for Warzone I believe. Beyond it being hard to find it isn't too inviting, I wasn't sure what to expect once I got to the site since you can't see any of the discussion going on until you have registered and logged in. Maybe that is the intent though, not sure.
-
The reason for that is, the site was getting Spammed to death, so the change was made to clean the site up.
-
Maybe someone should and this to the Wiki site so people know.

Good call - and karma to you for it. I think we should all make a little effort to get the word out and keep things more visible. We've really done a good job of keeping the game alive, we've got a great game, Thom has been good enough to offer to share some unpublished new goodies....for a supposedly "dead" game, WZ is pretty vibrant. I guess it's all that dark symmetry keeping the game undead!
;)
-
FWIW, I updated the game's Wiki information....hope this helps.

Thanks Alpha
Karma to Dog for the suggestion and you for the execution of a great idea.

I got to it on Google - warzone forums. It comes right up.

Awesome! Good Karma to you!
Although, all the header says is "Login". That's not very good advertising.

If y'all get a chance, and haven't done so already, see if the wiki entry for Chronopia can have a link to us here. I'm barely able to use this computer at the office anymore due to a recent crackdown. I may have to finally pony up and just get a laptop. Anyway, kings to all of you keeping the games alive.
