Here's a mini I am working on at the moment (it isn't quite finished yet). I recently learned a new trick with Photoshop that I had to try.

Hey, he just stepped of the landing craft. He'll get plenty of time to work on his tan once he's established a beach head. :)

Now if you could just add the nifty umbrella drink ;D

"I said a STRAWBERRY Daquiri!" *sound of shotgun racking*

"BBBBZZZTTTT... This is Fox 1, engaging target, sir... She is repelling our advances sir, please advise, over."

Clearly he is looking and pointing down to the ground at the small patch of purple flowers...
"Gentlemen, operation Brotherhood Bouqet is a success! The Cardinal will be quite pleased..."

"BBBZZZTTTT.. These girls seem to have gone wild, sir, please advise!"
"Begin Operation: Mardi Gras! Deploy the plastic beads!"

"You! Jenkins! Rub the coconut oil there and there! Anderson-start playing ukelele now! SImmons, that had better SPF 30!"

You did a really good job of Siloing (masking off) the figure to drop it into the background. You need to add an appropriate shadow to make it blend in realistically though....
Do this by copying the figure to another layer and then darkening it through brightness and contrast until it's black. Then apply a soft gaussian blur to it. Then skew it at an appropriate length, and angle. Finally tweak the opacity settings of the layer until it shades the ground an amount similar to the other shadows, but does not completely cover it (nor is too faint).
If you'd like a more detailed recommendation, just ask. Before I got a real job I was a graphic designer for over a decade. I used to consult and teach graphic departments how to use Photoshop and seriously considered writing a book at one point. It's still my favorite software in the world...and you can do ANYTHING with it if you have time , skill, patience and imagination.
What was the new thing you learned to do?

There needs to be a surfboard in the photo. Because is there any reason needed for calling a mission that its sole purpose is to chase tail and get some surfing time?

"If I say its safe to surf this beach Captain, then its safe to surf this beach. I mean I'm not afraid to surf this place, I'll surf this whole f'g place! "

Alpha, I happened to read this article (http://www.coolminiornot.com/article/aid/382) over at CMON. That's where I learned to do this. I have an old version of Photoshop I got from a friend when he bought a new one. I only use a fraction of the things in there though. I'll have to try to add a shadow. :)
The left lens on his sunglasses has "leaked" a bit I see, the background is showing through the light area on that lens.
I tried to do some NMM or SENMM on the sunglasses so that it looks like they¨re reflecting the horizon. You can see my feeble attempts on the eagle on his shoulder and on the shotgun as well.
