I know the feeling. I was a struggling student but mercifully, I wasn't aware of this hobby then. If I did, I would be engaged in...questionable financial acquisitions.. in addition to working several part time jobs and a stint as a circus performer.
Now older and wiser and having some coins to spare, yet still don't have enough to satisfy the mini madness! >:(

A lot of the Forgeworld stuff is just plain Krap! Sorry if I bruise any egos, but the only vehicle even vaguely good looking is the small Bauhaus Armored Car.
The rest are badly scaled, or just look goofy!
So, if you don't have the old rare stuff, that is OK.
I agonized over picking up a Black Widow, a few years back when one sold on E-Bay for $42. I have seen Aldrien's, and it is well painted, but the model is not well molded, and I thought was a poor imitation of the "real" one they kit bashed for the 2nd ed rules. Now that BW looks wicked!
Overall, I am glad I picked up lots of regular troops that I can really play with, as opposed to bad models that never really fit well into the game.

I really would not want any of the huge resin vehicles . They are ugly and have no use in the game. I would rather have the GT offroad and the vermin from wargammer poland since they actually can be used in the game. I am happy that EE stayed away from collectors models, why I would want to spend over $100 dollars on a Baneblade I can never use is crazy.

I thought about sometimes but some gamers (a Russian friend that we know) do it out of passion and for the love of the hobby. As a casual gamer though, I'd be rather be more practical and purchase something I can use.
Come to think of it, it's just a matter of perspective. A sports fan might denigrate our hobby for lavishing our time and resources for our toy soldiers. And even in this hobby, there's a whole range of people that vary in their dedication for the game. A casual gamer from one end of the spectrum might not understand the passion and the love of their hobby from those who are in the extreme range.
I guess it's just a matter of stepping back and looking at things from a different perspective that gives us insight to another's mindset.
But then again, I would be really, really be mad as Hades, if I have to face a Baneblade! If that's the case, I'm throwing all that sappy nonsense out the window...by getting a... another Baneblade! ;D

i would love a copy of all the resin vehicles, esp. the grizzly..
and honestly, the baneblade may look cool, but a grizzly..
if one day i have one, i will carry it to the local GW store and annoy all 40K players!
(in fact, we want to stage a cybertronic(robo) / imperial battle disquised as necrons vs. imperial army in this shop... :D)

that was because i dug it from the diorama-thread..
this time there was a nicely painted one on ebay. The auction was gone and i tought the pics were auction reposts.
i remeber now, in the ebay one there was at least 1 mishima.. i think it was multi-faction..
went away rather cheap..... ~20 E? i bought the clowncar that month instead :(

Maby the Christmas Karnophage, Blight Commando Sgt and the Tainter Specialist also scould be put in the Rare Ithems section. Not many was produced.

I Think this models are quite rare. What do you know about them?? I think thay were made pre WarZone for the Mutant Chronicles RPG.

I had the BW, and got rid of it as it was pretty badly designed and casted.( had air bubbles all over it )
I do have some of the comics and WZ display bases left.
The biggest problem with the grizzly was the scale and they didnt wait for the new vehicle rules to come out in Beasts of War. Basically if you had the tank, you won no matter what anyone did.
The metal Imp and Captiol ones youre showing , Grinder, are indeed from the RPG days.

I love those mods to the Grizzly - I sold mine a while back - it was just too big to ever make it onto a battlefield of ours! :) Love the paint job on the other one.
