Title: Demolition Scenario

The Demolition Scenario seems to heavily favor the attacker in a two player game.  Am I missing something?

Dave,
Great game today. I had a blast. Thanks for the knowledge and the fun. Thats whats makes UWZ THE game to beat. Well have to do that again the other way around next time.

Now on to the question. I dont see how it heavilly favors the attacker. You actually were in a position early on to stop me from getting there or to even slow me up until you could get help<infiltrate was a GREAT idea>. From what I saw you CANNOT allow the attacker to get anywhere near the objective first<it would have been very interesting if we had both brought infiltrators> I think if you would have brought your golden lions to the objective and made me come through them and brought your walker in quickly, I would have had a heck of a time digging you out with what I had. Remember in battle" High ground usually wins"

All in all it was  a great battle, a perfect example of what UWZ is all about. Strategy, force comp and fun!!!

I LOVE THIS GAME!!!!

I still think that with all things even, the attacker merely has to destroy the objective, whereas the defender has to, effectively, kill the enemy force.

I may, indeed, be wrong, I just think that as it is written, presently, it is a biton the attackers favor.  Just opinion.

I just read thru that scenario and you would think if you where defending the objective that a portion of your forces would be on guard duty with the majority of your points coming in  as backup.

Or it could be viewed another way. Some new technology has been found, 1 force wants to destroy it and one force wants to capture it as its own. EIther way they both start equidistant from the objective. I think with having to set a charge and not just be able to shoot it to destroy it it makes it a more balanced scenario.
Tho Dave you dont have to Kill all the attackers. You just have to make it difficult to get to the objective to being with.

I agree, Bryon (see the Battle Report I posted).  And, I like Phil's idea, too.  Work on it, Phil.

In a demolition scenario, I would think that all you would have to do is eliminate the demo specialist troops and/or squads...

It would be hard for me to win a demolition scenario if all of my Golden Lions are dead

For that particular scenario, every trooper is considered to be carrying a demolition pack.   Though to even it up a bit you deffinatly could allow only Demolition Specialists to get a free ride at placing a charge and every other model has to pass a Leadership test first.
