Title: Topkick--Paying it forward.
Post by: joshuaslater on December 20, 2006, 06:34:43 AM
It appears he was serious indeed!!  I just recieved a box from Topkick containing Chronopia models, and combined with some of mine and some from Bill Meredith, Jacob has his Dark Tusk army!!!  I already went out this past Sunday to give my nephews their gifts.  Michael got the rulebook, with an army pending depending on what he likes, and Jacob got his Dwarves.  The look on his face when he saw TWO totems was priceless.  I'm sure he will be thrilled to see the rest of his murderous stunties arrive in full effect.  Now to clean all those models, prime'em and set to teaching them how to paint.  Uncle Josh is going to be a busy man with all this.

I want to thank Hal Gibson for this unexpected surprise.  I can't believe the generosity of this gift.  I'm looking to keep paying this forward.  I'm going to consult his wish list and see what I can come up with, even though he's not expecting anything in return.  Phillysniper Bryon wanted some Chronopia, and his wife won't let him spend the cash, so for this Christmas season I think Chanukah Harry may have something for him....

I've noticed that the trading post is very active, and people are combining efforts not to step on each other on ebay and share and swap accordingly.  This community is like no other.  Period.  We are definitely a breed apart with an esprit de corps unmatched by any other games.

Thanks to everybody on these forums for keeping our community going.  Everyone is busy with the holidays right now, so cash is tight, and time is too.  Here's hoping in 2007 we will see more gaming and good times for all, as well as health and happiness.

Yours,

Joshua Slater

Thanks for the kind words. Just practicing an idea I learned from my parents. There is a country song that expresses it perfectly -

The Chain of Love
You don't owe me a thing, I've been there too
Someone once helped me out,
Just the way I'm helping you
If you really want to pay me back,
Here's what you do
Don't let the chain of love end with you
