It is fun.
... so why is a dog heavy army any good (efficiency wise)?

So, is it really good? I get a grunt that can shoot at the same price.. in CC also similar..
the group attack is good, but you donīt have many.. so how to "overrun" anyone?

also something like deadshot is going to ruin your day, I presume.. (chasseur HMG with deadshot :D)

but fun, yeah, but is it OK with animal rights to feed dogs on zombi meat?

cus

I can have up to 6 per squad, and as a Grunt choice, there's no limit to the number (apart from Army build total, that is)

I've never won with it, mind you, but it's darn fun, and especially on a terrain heavy board, those dogs tend to sneak up pretty well.

Dogs rule in an indoor scenario. Troops with a similar point vlue would probably not hit every time and they have to test to come off wait for one shot during the dogs turn. Masses of dogs rushing around a corner and into a position should arrive in sufficent numbers to make it a long day for grunts. Also with their higher move rate they can use other routes around strongpoints without adding too many turns to the overall game. If a unit is pinned down pack of dogs can find away around and assault from the rear. This is especially nasty when using cyber-mastiffs and Imperial. They have a troop - trenchers I believe - that can shoot into HTH without hitting their own. Like Travolta said in Basic "That makes for a long day"

I have to admit dogs can be a pain. I think their biggest benefit is if your opponent doesnt know they are coming in a battle. If I know they are coming Im going to load up on flamers, especially on an indoor board where they cant spread out to attack.
I faced a small amount at Dexcon and I had to concentrate on them first which slowed me down to the rest of the battle and objectives. But most of all they made for an interesting, fun game which is what UWZ or any game for that matter is all about :)

I notice no one noticed that he is quoting from The Postman starring Kevin Costner.  :D

I thought first contact wasn't that bad.  Probably my favorit star trek movie of all time.  IMHO.
