Secondary Attack - how many weapons?
« on: February 16, 2006, 10:40:57 AM »
Ok, here is a new one...

Using the special ability secondary attack I can make two attacks in one action. Most units/warbands have two weapons... the Unholy Champion has only one...so that he can attack two times with his sword...

When a unit has two weapons, and one of those is weaker than the other, can I attack two times with the good one?

You should use every Weapon you have available for the secondary attack. Only very view Individuals have secondary attack combined with only one weapon, so its an exception for them.

Wich means if you have only one weapon you forced to do both attacks with it but if there are two they have to be used both.

Quite correct Ruther.

When the unit has more than one weapon the secondary attack has to be with a different weapon than the primary attack.

If the unit should have only one weapon (like the Black Sister Champ for example) it can attack twice with that weapon.

But what about Crucifiers??

They have 4 hands and 4 weapons. Whenever i make primary CC attack with their weapon i may use the secondary, but there are two possible weapons: sword and/or MP - may i just pick one of them and perform the secondary attack? (remeber they hav 3 remaining hands)

- in case of secondary CC attack it is always better to use their sword

..am i right...?

Crucifiers are in Warzone so that question has been answered in another thread.

O.K. Now the fun question ;D The Wailers have a Natural attack with their tail.  Having secondary attack and this with only (heh-heh) their one weapon ( besides the Tail), do both the Tail Attack and the regular attack get to attack twice? If so, how do the modifiers work?  The way we've been playing is that only the sword gets the secondary attack.  The tought that they could sit 2in.'s away and pummle someone is scary enough, but to do it twice an action..... :o

I have always played it the way that the tail attack is the wailers secondary one.

The trick is that the tail is a natural weapon.  Thats a free attack anyway.  Hence my question.

I'm at work at the moment. I'll do some reasearch tonight and see what I can discover.

I've always played the Wailers as having to choose between the Tail and the Sword for Primary and Secondary, just as any other model with two Weapons and Secondary Attack.

But, as has been posted, Natural Attacks are free, so this could potentially change that. I'll look into it.

I get the feeling that it is a choose, The gourd spirit has natural attacks but one is primary and the other secondary for balancing. Think about a wailer getting two sword swings AND a tail attack all in one action.
