Proxy for Stygian Desert Wyrm
« on: January 17, 2012, 08:33:27 AM »
Just saw this today on TMP. It would make a nice proxy for a Desert Wyrm.

Here's a nice painted pic someone did of one.

Pretty cool is that from Dune or Tremors?
Always look out for number one, but don't step in number two.

Looking good.

It's from what ever you want it to be from!  ;)

It's got aspects of both if you ask me.

That doesn't need to be a proxy, consider that simply an alternative of the real thing. That model is awesome. I own the 'real thing' but that wyrm is a great second one to add to my collection.

So I just purchased a great stand in for a Desert Wyrm, I think much better than the one I first posted on this thread. This guy really fits the look of Excelsior's Desert Wyrm. I'm really loving this one, but you better get it before it's gone as it is limited edition, just 1000 copies. It's a little bit expensive for some at $30, but I really don't think so. It has some amazing detail and it is resin which tends to run a bit higher anyway.

D&D also produced a Purple worm very easy made and cheap, which I bought to represent the tenebrous crawler because of it's massive size. I'm not able to put a picture, but you can find it here in another discussion on this forum (scroll down)

So I got my Purple Worm miniature yesterday. It's a little bit smaller than I thought, but not disappointed at all. Here are some pictures I took next to some Chronopia figs I had on hand. I just blue tacked him together so I could take the picture. I realize now that I should have put these at the same distance from the camera as it looks a whole lot smaller than it is in these first two pictures. I'm more than happy with it!

I think it works fine. As for the tenebrous crawler, just give that tunneling ability to the desert wrym. that way you don't need another model and you can try using that as an option for your stygian. Just a thought.
