Dog of War lives in Nevada, which is about 45 minutes north of Joplin (about an hour and 15 minutes south of me) and clear of the destruction in that town. Or he did the last time he was on these boards. Who knows now?
Having lived in Joplin and surrounding area until I was 28, I'm waiting for the list of dead to come out to see if I knew any of the unlucky casualties. My dad was a near thing, but he managed to survive with only having a wall fall on him while working. He's sore, but okay.
Honestly, I've not seen this much distruction from a tornado....ever. Having grown up in the Midwest, I'm used to the possibility and have seen many cases of destruction, but this is far beyond anything I could've imagined. It looks like No Man's Land from WWI or the Blitz in WWII. Crazy.
